I saw this somewhere that Pokemon Fans are speculating that Hiun City could be, in fact, New York. It could be. Serebii.net said that there will be a bridge called "Sky Arrow Bridge" that connects Hiun to somewhere else which could be the Brooklyn Bridge that connects NY to the country. Or even possibly Tokyo.

Yeah I've heard speculation on this as well. I also heard that since there aren't many areas left in japan to use as a base for the pokemon regions, Nintendo might base off a region after a different country. This could further confirm the belief that Hiun City is to New York as the Isshu region is to part of the United States.

It's a possibility, but it doesn't make much sense in my opinion. New York is on the east coast of the United States, so unless they completely flipped the United States relationship to Japan in the games I find it more likely to be west coast of United States (i.e. Los Angeles) or that it is based on Tokyo. Unless one of the people at GameFreak say anything however it is all speculation.

It still could be Hollywood. It's near Los Angeles and the Sky Arrow Bridge could be leading to Los Angeles.

I really don't think so, but it's possible. Maybe they just flipped the USA around and it is New York. Isshu is said to be farther away from all the other regions.

Isshu is Kyushu, so Hiun is Kitakyushu City. The bridge is the Kammon-kyo bridge, which connects Kyushu to the main island of Honshu. Most people speculated the games would take part on Kyushu and Honshu, and this proves it.

Huh? I can speak Japanese (not very fluently) but I can't pronounce half those words. You win the award for typing unpronouncable words. And I had made a region based off of Kyushu, but I gave up and made a region based off of New Zealand. (named Zealest)

Keep it open because there's a chance I might be wrong. I probably am, knowing Nintendo.
Also, I didn't know that off the top of my head. I just am almost positive the region is based off of Kyushu, and lots of people think it includes western Honshu as well. That's why I looked at a map of Japan and found a city near Honshu, hoped it had a bridge connecting, and lo and behold it did.

Then they'll get rid of it. They got rid of Nagasaki in Hoenn. I am convinced Orre is a dramatized version of Hiroshima though.

I assume that if it is America, they're going to give us an extremely harsh treatment (PokeMcDonald's...... ugh....), since we kind of unleashed a doomsday weapon on one or two of their cities (they had it coming! They bombed us first!), it would definitely be safer to go with somewhere in Asia, although I would find it interesting to see what PokeAmerica looks like, since it's been continually referenced in the English dub of the anime.

Yeah and they made a South America reference too in Xatu´s Silver Dex! So many uncharted places... *shrugs*
Oh and I see you´re from the U.S. TheNoob. But I hope you don´t jump to the conlcusion that we all are. =D
