I know that we have Spamouse, Porygon-Z, and various others, but I figured that we should have software mishap pokemon slightly closer to the original bugs and malfunctions. I have two ideas in mind here, I was hoping I could get help fleshing them out...

DA! Glad to see youu back, even though you don't remember me. ^_^ I like the idea, but it would be nice to have pronounceable names. :P As for type, maybe Steel/Bug? Or is that too bad of a pun?

Steel/Dark could work too.

Ahahaha, I love the Steel/Bug typing. These are nice, although it would be nice to have the names more namish.

I agree pronounceable names would be better, though I understand you're trying to make the names look like glitches. Maybe have the names unpronounceable in regular English, like pronouceable in l33t? Then they'd still look like symbols. For example, If you wanted the name to be Malrus (Malware + virus), it could be M41ru5 (or M@1ru$, but I don't think @ or $ exist in the pokedex font).

Ideas thus far that I like:
Types: Steel/Bug, (most genuine glitch pokemon have random types)
Miravistel's Idea for names:
Gg-_QmnX$ is now M41ru5
Gg-_QmnX$+ is now M41ru5+
Jolly's idea for the name change:
Illegal Operation is now Tech. Error (Most coding doesn't allow for spaces)
And, while I'm at it, I might as well try and flesh out the entries...
M41ru5
D: First found in the PC box of a noted hacker, it is thought to survive entirely by corrupting data. (98 characters)
P: It is often responsible for broken text files, but has been known to infect audio files as well. (96 characters)

M41ru5+
D: It possesses the capacity to completely ravage an entire city's network in a matter of seconds. (95 characters)
P: It is a crime severely punishable in several regions to deposit this Pokémon into a PC box. (91 characters)
Thank you for the help so far. Now, onto the concept of appearance: Should these be closer to genuine system errors or insects?
Also, when should M41ru5 learn Tech. Error?

How about looking like those black rectangular chips (?) with those metal prongs on their sides that look like legs? I don't know what they're called, but I've seen a few Youtube videos with modified "walking" versions of those.

Well, I was thinking more along the lined of something that looked like a computer-generated image, on the grounds that M41ru5 and M41ru5 are based on malevolent software.

Um, Jolly, I'm not sure if you knew, but Tech.Error is an existing move, and there's no space in it.

TECH.ERROR

Accuracy 70%
20 PP
Enemy's next attack acts as a random one of its other moves (no effect if enemy has only one move)
Causes foe to use
the wrong move.

I'd say it would be pretty high level, maybe mid 30s or low 40s?

If it is existing already then why should the Illegal Operation's name be changed to Tech.Error? Thus their effect are not the same. So we'll have to work on thinking another name for now.

That "Illegal Operation" move's accuracy should be 80% or 75%, somewhere around that? :P Maybe 85% could be good too?

My point is that there's no reason to make a new move. We could just use Tech.Error, which already exists anyway and fits pretty well with a glitch pokemon. :P

For M41ru5, perhaps, but I was thinking that M41ru5+ could be based on those 3-D CGI images that high-school CAD students always make.
On the matter of Illegal Operation:
It should be its own move. Perhaps I could shorten it to Illegal Op.?
Although I think that the accuracy proposition is good enough.
