I just wanted to point this out. It astounds me how many Pokemon there are counting our approved ones.

151 Pokemon from Red/Blue/Yellow
+100 Pokemon from Gold/Silver/Crystal
+135 Pokemon from Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald
+107 Pokemon from Diamond/Pearl/Platinum
+ more than 11 Pokemon from Black/White
+300 Pokemon from the Factory's GSC era
+250 Pokemon from the Factory's RSE era
+80 currently approved Pokemon from the DPt era of the Factory

That equals 1,134+ Pokemon in total. Holy crap. o___o;;

Well, over 1,000 (dare I say this? over nine thoooussaaaa-) Pokémon was already expected.
remember what the Giratina movie said?

Don't forget the pokemon to come from the 5th generation. I am thinking they will be damaging to pf's archives than the 4th gen has.

It will be an interesting challenge keeping our archives intact. We might have to do what we did with Rhyny and Balyantis and make new lines. I hope there aren't many of these. If there a lot of evolutions we can still keep our evolutions, they'll just be alternate evolutions now.

Personally, I am expecting Black and White to have few pre-evos and evos, like Ruby and Sapphire. There seems to be a pattern in that both Gold and Silver, and Diamond and Pearl introduced so many (pre-)evos; and Red and Blue, and Ruby and Sapphire did not. I'm expecting Black and White to follow the first and third gens.

Staff are like "uber-legendaries", they don't even have a number, it's just "PF#STAFF". SE's are like bonus things, and Gags are jokes. So I don't count those.

Technically it'd be plus 11. Because each starter has three evolutionary forms, making 9. Add Zorua and Zoroark and you get 11.

I did the math. The real total, not counting gags, specials, old Staff or currently approved Pokemon, is 1500 Pokemon EXACTLY.

That's... the 493 real pokemon, plus 11 B/W, plus 575 PF, and 11 Staff? Sounds like 1090 to me. :/ Assuming by "currently approved pokemon" you meant the D/P pokemon that haven't been archived yet? Even with them, that's only 1145. :/

You know I hope the even out the number of official pokemon with Black and White. I don't why but I always found it hard to remember how many pokemon there were third generation and fourth generation was slightly easier because its just seven away, but still. I am hoping for 157 new pokemon, making the total 650 (I hope that I did that math right). X_x That's a lot of pokemon and with that total it would be the first generation to beat Generation I in terms of how many introduced.

I should really stop expecting so much, but with a great franchise like Pokemon its hard not to want the best.
