Following a suggestion by soble92 (from a pretty long while ago), we updated the description of the Levitate special ability on the site. It now grants pokémon that have it as their ability not only immunity to Ground-type attacks, but also a 1.5 times weakness to Wind-type attacks. The reason behind this is that Flying-types, being airborne and all, are weak to Wind-types too.

A nice way to counteract the ever-useful Levitate ability. If you are immune to Earthquake (and nearly everything Ground-types can throw at you), along with Arena Trap and the effects of several Other moves, (such as Spikes and Toxic Spikes) then you might as well be hurt more by something else, to make it even.

Oh, this is good.
But are there any of these weaknesses towards other "immune to one type" abilities (Flash Fire, Water Absorb, Volt Absorb)?

Nope. We just needed to add this weakness because in the PF setting, the Wind-type exists. It doesn't make sense if Flying-type pokémon are weak to Wind-type attacks, and Levitating pokémon are not.

Now, I gotta ask this.
If a steel-type had levitate, and a Wind-type attack from a Wind type Pokémon hit it...
That would be 1.5 * 1.5 / 2= 1.125
What if it is a levitating steely dragon?
1.125/2= 0.5625
Does that "0.0625" count? As in "Wow, the attack was just slightly more powerful than not-very-effective!

Lol, the damage ratios are probably rounded up or down. 1.000 - 1.249 would become 1, while 1.250 - 1.499 would become 1.5, etc.
I'll agree that the damage ratio is a bit difficult because of the "1.5", but we didn't want to overpower Wind-types by making Wind-type attacks do 2x damage against Levitating pokémon.

JDL, you're doing it wrong. STAB is not factored into type effectiveness.

I think 1.25 would stay as 1.25, but it doesn't matter because you couldn't deal that much damage anyways.

What this is basically is adding extra power to wind type moves toward levitating pokemon. Nothing else, nothing more. Can you stop with the mathematical crap??

Avantidude, it's a valid point. The values don't exist, and Wind type might eventually get added to the pokengine RPG, so it is useful. Besides, people like discussing it, and it's not doing any harm in my honest opinion. ShinE has the easy solution by rounding in to whatever it's closest to, so that can be used.

Yeah, although Flarsable had a good point. Still, it'd mean rounding it to 1, 1.25 or 1.5 to keep things simple.
