A young man in a lab coat approached Ethan. "Hello there! I'm Aaron, aide to Prof. Idaho and currently in charge of the lab. What can I do for you?"

(OOC: Sure, I can RP delivering the Tiquail to him if you like. I'll just wait until he's actually registered as a trainer before I give you the Tiquail.)

"Ah, so you're here from a different region?" Aaron said as he took the trainer card for a closer look. "I can certainly register you for our league. And since you already have your own starter pokemon, I won't need to give you one of ours, so this shouldn't take long." He walked over to a computer and scanned the card, then typed away busily for a minute or two.

"Annnd...you're all set!" Aaron said as he finished up. He handed the card back to Ethan with a smile. "If you need to know a little more about your Spheal, feel free to return it to its pokeball and use our scanner," Aaron said as he pointed to a machine in one corner that had a slot for a pokeball and a screen on its front. "If not, I can show you right to the last thing we need to do before I can give you a pokedex."

"Alright, come right this way, then," said Aaron. He led Ethan through a door at the back of the lab, which opened to a room with grass growing in the floor. The roof was open too, letting the sun stream in. Among the grass grew rows of white flowers, which marked out the lines for a pokemon battlefield. 

"There's a town in Bombur called Nidivum Town, which specializes in Flying-type pokemon," Aaron began to explain. "This month they're having a festival in honor of the fact that many Flying pokemon lay eggs around this time of year, so they're giving out free baby Tiquails to all trainers. So the little guy is yours to keep. Not only is it shiny, but I hear it knows a few special moves, too." As Aaron finished the explanation, he waved goodbye to the Postork as it flew up through the nonexistent ceiling and rejoined its flock. 

Aaron tossed his own pokeball onto the field. "Come on out, Nevermore!" His pokemon appeared on the field, a small, dark-colored bird.

"Let's start strong, so for a Tackle," Aaron said.

His pokemon squawked in acknowledgement, then dashed forward at Spheal.

(OOC: You may want to include whether the attack from Aaron's pokemon hit, how your pokemon reacted, and that sort of thing. It makes it easier to picture the battle and judge how your pokemon is doing.)

Nevermore was blasted by the attack and squawked unhappily. It shooks its dripping wings to try and get some of the water off.

"Get back a bit and Growl," Aaron instructed.

His pokemon hopped a couple steps back before growling loudly at Spheal.
