It occurred to me today that Oddish and Bellsprout are counterparts, but Gloom has an alternate evolution while Weepinbell does not. I tried to come up with one myself, but couldn't come up with a good idea. So let's see what the rest of the community can do!
Since the Bellsprout line is based on pitcher plants, a good place to start might be looking over different species of pitcher plants for one that would make a good alternate evolution: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pitcher_plant . Or if we want to make it a bit different, we could look at other carnivorous plants: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carnivorous_plant .
