Lucas knew Aaron's calculating brain thought that they were charging up for a Flail. He was right, but he still had a few tricks up his sleeve. He waited until Aaron had told Nevermore to Growl. Right when Nevermore opened it's beak, Lucas shouted. "Kiosk! Fake Tears!" The little pokemon bawled as soon as Nevermore Growled. The screaming and crying drowned out the Growl, but it didn't lose the effect, just lowered how much the drop in attack was.

Pokémon Factory Worker

Nevermore saw that Kiosk was crying again and stopped growling. It remembered that Aaron said the other pokemon was just faking, but it was starting to feel bad again anyway.

"Don't worry, Nevermore, remember what I said. Tackle this time," Aaron said.

His pokemon was a bit slower to move than usual, but it dashed toward Kiosk regardless.

Lucas saw that Nevermore was charging at Kiosk again, but didn't tell Kiosk to do anything. Nevermore ran forward, and when it was mere inches away from Kiosk, Lucas shouted. "Kiosk, jump on Nevermore and use Flail!" Kiosk did as was told, but a little late, so Nevermore managed to land the Tackle partially. That's okay, Lucas thought, Kiosk has high defenses, being Rock-type, and the extra damage will hurt Nevermore just a little more.

Pokémon Factory Worker

As Kiosk flailed about, it hit Nevermore more strongly than the bird would have expected. Nevermore soon slumped to the ground, knocked out.

Aaron returned his pokemon, then tossed out the next. "Your turn, Ledyba! Tackle!"

His ladybug-like pokemon appeared on the field, then quickly dashed toward is opponent.

Lucas congratulated Kiosk, and then told it to wait. Ledyba got perily close to Kiosk, and then Lucas shouted. "Kiosk, jump!" Kiosk obeyed, but hit part of his feet on the rushing bug. "Fake Tears, Kiosk!" Lucas shouted. The little pokemon bawled uncontrollably, screaming.

Ledyba was surprised when its opponent suddenly started bawling, and looked sad that it'd upset the little pokemon. It actually walked closer to Kiosk and started chirping something that sounded like an apology.

"Ledyba, don't be fooled, it's trying to trick you! Get back and Growl at it!" Aaron called.

His pokemon looked reluctant but obeyed, taking a few steps back and growling halfheartedly.

"Kiosk, run towards it and Flail!" Lucas shouted. The small fake tree, somewhat reluctantly, ran towards the bug and started shaking and thrashing wildly.

Pokémon Factory Worker

Despite Aaron's warning, Ledyba was caught completely off guard by Kiosk's attach and was struck hard by the other pokemon. It cried out in surprise as it was knocked to the ground.

"You alright, Ledyba? Can you keep going?" Aaron asked. His pokemon shakily climbed to its feet and chirped an agreement. "OK, Tackle now!"

Ledyba charged toward Kiosk, trying its best to pay its opponent back for the unexpected attack.

"Kiosk, wait for it to hit, and then Flail!" Lucas shouted. Kiosk did as told, waiting for the attack, nervously shaking. The small bug pokemon skittered right into the Bonsly, striking it hard. Suddenly, the fake tree started to flail wildly, a last ditch effort to hit the bug. Every body part the Pokemon had was shaking, thrashing, hitting, just to try and hit the Ledyba.

Pokémon Factory Worker

Kiosk's wild movements weren't in vain; Ledyba was struck hard several times, knocking it around a bit before it slumped to the ground, unconscious.

Aaron returned his fainted pokemon as he said, "Well done! A Bonsly is certainly an unusual pokemon to start with, but you've clearly proven you can work well together. You've earned this." He walked across the field to the victorious trainer, then pulled a badge from his pocket and held it out.

Lucas has recieved the Panorama Badge!

Aaron also handed Lucas a small, red device. "This is a PFL pokedex, which also has a number of useful features like a cell phone and the ability to store and swap your pokemon. I'm sure it'll come in handy. Good luck on your journey!"

"Thank you so much, Aaron!" Lucas shouted in glee. He then turned to Kiosk, the nervous pokemon shaking. "Well, since I know your gender, how about I change that nickname of yours? How do you like Gaia?" He asked the jittery Bonsly, who replied with a quick nod of her head. Lucas, momentarily forgetting about the badge, now turned back to Aaron. He gently took the small piece of metal, and held up high. He then pinned it to his loose jacket, right on his left shoulder. Lucas, walking out the door, said, "Thanks again!", before charging out to start his adventure.

Lucas walked briskly through Anchore Town, the sea breeze ruffling his hair. He jogged toward a Pokemon Center, opening up the glass door. He slipped inside, greeted by a cheerful chime and a "Hello" from the Nurse Joy inside.
"Can you possibly heal my Bonsly?" Lucas asked. Gaia chirped.
"Of course!" The nurse answered, promptly taking his Bonsly.
A few seconds later, the nurse handed the baby Pokemon back, while Lucas walked out the door, calling "Thank you!" along the way.

Meanwhile, a young boy named Ethan and his spheal were heading to the pokemon center to get a map and some camping gear. As he was about to enter, another boy [Lucas] appeared at the door and they collided.

"Oooops, sorry!" Lucas pleaded at the boy he had collided with. Gaia chirped, as if confirming Lucas' apology. Seeing that the other boy also had a Pokemon, a small Spheal, following him, Lucas asked, despite the question having a very obvious answer, "Oh, are you a trainer too?"

"Why yes, I am," Ethan replied, "My Spheal and I came all the way from Mossdeep City in Hoenn to challenge the Bombur league." He brushed his shirt to make it smoother. "Maybe we should chat at the center a bit."

Without responding, Lucas opened the door for the other boy. While he was walking through, Lucas said, "What's your name? Mine's Lucas." Lucas' Bonsly followed after the Spheal, accidentally bumping into the round Pokemon repeatedly.

When Lucas opened the door, he and Ethan saw a odd-looking boy that was supposedly talking to himself. He had an Xoskillitn next to him, which growled along with him.
