"So?" Crowe asked, eager. "Are they here yet?"
"I'd give 'em about another hour or so," said Vic, fiddling around with a pencil he found lying around. He twirled it in between his fingers for a couple seconds before it flew off into the pile of Pokeballs Crowe had been keeping in a nearby bin. "You know," said Vic, "you really should tidy up. You know, for guests."
"It's a laboratory, Vic," said Crowe. "Do you expect it to be neat and orderly, what with all the... uhm, science? Going on?"
"I did, actually."
Professor Crowe sighed. He had been waiting so long for some enterprising Trainers-to-be to come and answer his ad, but so far, only the neighborhood boy had shown up. "So, Vic," he said, "do you want to choose your Pokemon now?"
"I'd rather wait," said Vic. "I don't want to be the first one out of the gate."
"You certainly seem fine being the first one lining up!" Crowe said, grinning nervously. "... Who am I kidding? You're gonna be the only one here." Crowe held his head in his hands and sighed. "So you heard they were coming, right?"
"Right."

[Alright, time to make your introductions, everybody! Make a good first impression!]

Suddenly, the door to the lab flung open, and Hope stepped in quite dramatically, "Gott Kvold, everybody!" He said with a smile, "I saw the ad on the laptop and thought, how svalr! Ha ha, I traveled from far, far away just to get here! Ha ha! So anyway, according to the ad, you needed help with your... uh, how do you say, research? Yes, yes, research."

Hope put his hand behind his neck in embarrassment, "Many apologies if you cannot understand me. Very talented I am in many things, not so much the English."

"No worries!" Professor Crowe said in delight. "I was waiting for you to come along!"

"Uhh... He was supposed to come along, right, Vic?"

Vic checked the applications list. "Yep. Hope Ansonur, age 15, of Hoenn. As scheduled!"

Professor Crowe smiled. "Thank goodness--I was beginning to assume the worst." Crowe got up and outstretched a hand. "I'm Raymond Crowe, up-and-coming Pokemon Professor! This is my assistant, Vic Lecomte...!"

Vic waved a single hand.

"It's so great to meet you, Mr. Ansonur!"

"Nice to meet you as well, Professor Crowe! And you, too, Vic!" Hope put his hands together and continued, "So, I believe you need help with your research, correct?"

"That's why you're here!" said Crowe. "... I would think." Crowe laughed uneasily and walked to the bin of Pokeballs he had laid out in wait. He picked the pencil out from between a couple of them and presented the bin's entirety to Hope.

"Eh-hrm. In these many, many Pokeballs, I have a Pokemon for you. Well, to be precise, in only one Pokeball. Which one it is, you choose. I cannot divine what, exactly, is in there--"

"He forgot," Vic interrupted.

"Exactly!" said Professor Crowe. "If you would, at this time, like to pick a Pokemon, before anybody else gets here, you may be my guest. If you wish to wait, that's fine as well. I'm not picky."

"Ah! How svalr! I shall choose now, for there is no time to waste!" Hope squinted at the bin, carefully examining each pokeball, which was a pretty useless thing to do considering the fact that they all look the same, but he did it anyway. "Hmm! That one! I choose that one!"

Hope squealed in excitement, "Ooo, I can feel its greatness all around me! It's so svalr!"

The Pokeball opened with a hiss of warm air, a burst of light, and out of the tiny red-and-white capsule came a pale beam that arced to the floor in what seemed like less than a second.

The light settled on the floor, a small white glob. Just as quickly, it formed into a small, humanoid creature, which looked up at Hope.

"Mime!"

"Oh!" Crowe said, in astonishment. "That's a Mime Jr., if I'm not mistaken! All the way from the Sinnoh region...!"

"Wow, luck of the draw, much?" Vic said. Vic got up and grabbed a Pokeball as well. "You know, if he's chosen his, I might as well choose mine..." Vic pressed the button on the front of the capsule, and--

"Oh, Vic!" Crowe said, stopping Vic's finger from releasing the Pokemon inside. "You should do that... outside."

"Oh! A Mime Jr., from the Sinnoh region, you say? How svalr!" Hope spread his arms wide and greeted his new companion, "Hello, little truor! I'm your new friend." The little mime began copying Hope and started to twirl, "Mime!" It exclaimed, "Oh ho, dasamlegur!" Hope held Mime Jr. in his arms and said, "I can feel a bond already!"

"Outside, eh? Looks like you might get a huge Pokemon, Vic!" Hope ran outside and excitedly waited for Vic and Crowe.

The others walked outside, and Vic (with a sigh of relief), pressed the button on the front of the capsule.

"OOOOOOONIX!"

"Oh, you're kidding." Vic looked up at the monstrous creature, which was staring back down at him. "So, this is my Pokemon?"

"Indeed!" Crowe said, smiling. "What do you think?"

"Honestly? I'm afraid."

A woman barged in. Who could it be this time? Maybe she's too old to just receive her first pokmon?!

"Hello!" She shouted. She seems a little bit too energetic? Well of course she is! She needs an adventure to keep herself away from boredom! "I'm Mary Landers!"

Her chatter started to get bigger... You sure wouldn't want to hear it would you? Finally, she stopped.

Mary didn't realize the others were outside, so Crowe politely stepped in. "I'm Professor Raymond Crowe, it's certainly nice to meet you!" he said.

Vic tried his hardest to conceal the fact that he hated, hated to hear Mary speak.

"Anyhow, I assume you're here for a Pokemon?" Crowe asked.

Hope stepped in the lab right after Professor Crowe greeted Mary, "Many apologies for interrupting, but I just wanted to say Kveoljum!" Hope swiftly stepped out the door, leaving everyone wondering what in the world "Kveoljum" meant.

"Oh, all's good," said Crowe. "Just pick a Pokeball from out of this bin!" Crowe presented the bin full of Pokeballs to Mary, eagerly.

Meanwhile, Vic was trying to come up with a good nickname for his Onix. Hmmm... maybe something about rocks? "Rocky", maybe--or "Roxy", if it's a girl... wait, is it a guy or a girl?

"Mime~!" Hope's Mime Jr. twirled and wiggled his arms as he skipped along with Hope down Balsam Town's road. "It's very nice here, don't you think little truour?" asked Hope. Mime Jr. put its little hands together and nodded in agreement. Hope was right, Laparidiso was a very lovely region, friendly people, scenic routes and landmarks, it was the perfect place for a vacation... and for adventure. Many new experiences and new people awaiting for Hope. "Ah, I miss Hoenn already..." He said to himself, "I wonder how my sister is..." he thought. "M-Mime!!" His Pokemon let out a sudden cry, "Eh? W-Wah!!" A small, green Pokemon suddenly bumped into Hope and tripped him, "B-Budew..." The Pokemon hit its head pretty hard, although, Hope noticed it carrying something in its mouth, it looked like a comic book or a magazine of some sort. "Buuud!!" It let out a cry of distress before jetting off into the Outset Road.

"Get back here, Budew! I didn't spend Ten-thousand Poke on that comic book for you to lose it!" yelled a stranger, who ran past Hope. "What... what happened, little truour? Did I fall on my head? Aye, it hurts..." Hope rubbed his head and stood back up, "Mime..." Mime Jr. frowned because it was worried about its trainer, "Tis' alright, little truour! I'll be fine." Mime Jr. was a bit relieved that Hope was alright. "Now... where was I going? Oh, yes, Outset Road. Come on, little truour! Follow me!"

"Good idea," said Vic to nobody in particular. He got up and walked over to Professor Crowe. "Hey, if you don't mind, I'll be heading off to go assist Hope."

"That's good of you!" said Professor Crowe. "You know, new Trainers need all the help they can get. I'll stay back here with Mary for a bit, see if she doesn't need some help with her Pokemon." Crowe paused for a bit, then came to a silent realization as he pulled out a small bag from a desk. He handed the bag to Vic. "These will come in handy, I guarantee."

Vic nodded and took the bag. He ran outside, pulled out his single Pokeball, and called his Onix out.

"Come on out, Onix!"

POF.

Onix lay sleeping on the ground. Slowly but surely, Onix looked up and realized that he had been called out. Onix raised himself up, stiffened his back for a bit, and looked at his Trainer. He grunted in recognition of his Trainer's request.

"Onix, let's get going, alright?" said Vic. "We've gotta follow Hope and make sure he knows what to do around here...!"

Onix roared, ready to go.

[By the way, it actually dawned on me that we should create our own topics. Only Always, you can make your own topic for the adventures of strange Swede. Same goes for all of you--and if you guys want to make teams for your guys, then you can do that.]
