I am starting to rethink about applying Ash in the RPG format. I want to see if the community thinks its a good idea.

If yes, which pokemon should he catch?

Well, it depends. Is it awesome Old Ash or :shudder: New Ash? Old Ash being up until the start of Hoenn, when it started getting sooo predictable.

Wish Nintendo would start doing with Pokemon what Capcom does with Robot Masters in Megaman. Hold a contest. and unlike Capcom hold it internationally.

Ash has been rejected before and he will be rejected again, sorry guys. You can continue to discuss what kind of pokemon he would have if he did come to Bombur. Here's a tip: Ash has always had Pikachu, a fire, water, grass pokemon, the early bird pokemon of each region, and another completely random pokemon.

So, Pikachu and Tiquail are definitely on there.

Grass: Youthistle/Holliguana/Nutreed/Stalker
Fire: Comolten/Xoskillitn/Agunni/Firmole
Water: Sukus/Ninemone/Cherippo/Tempole

I have no idea on the other one.

Don't forget's Ash's pokemon (especially that last, random one) often leave the team for various reasons and get replaced. So if he had a Concreate, he could probably have picked it up as a young lost, Piedreate, train it until it evolves, and then release Concreate to go take care of a group of young Piedreate in need of protection. :P But since Concreate is so solitary, that scenario would probably work better for some other pokemon.

Remember that his last pokemon is also part of a two stage line except in Sinnoh, so Concreate works. He also always has a primate pokemon. I think. Anyways, basically what I'm saying is that Ash with Simiance or Mandrobber would be hilarious. As for the starter, I think that Holliguana is good for him.

Although ZF's list leaves out many possible choice, I like Firmole and Tempole.
