Hmm... not bad. I was afraid at first it would be too human-like, but if it's mostly Bat it would be okay. Blatow is a weird name- how about Vamoon? No, that sounds even worse... any ideas?

Supposing that Pippestrat is based on the pipistrellini tribe of the chiroptera (bats) order, maybe it can be a Noctule.
If that´s the case how about Noctula? Nightule? Noctulus?

I´m not sure about the moon part of the names. The light the moon reflects gives a feeling of safety in the darkest nights. (In some paintings or horror novels the light it gives is pictured as macabre or ominous, but it´s still LIGHT) And I picture Pippestrat and this pokémon to be more on the pitch-black side, kinda like Darkrai.

But it´s whatever Patrino and the staff says.

How about SANGuine + NoctULE = Sangule ("Sanguine" means "bloody or blood-colored"). I think it works.
