I think we've already dismissed Water Gun because it isn't exactly a projectile, and I think the same would go for Hydro Pump and Hydrogen Gun too. Even though Hydro Cannon does contain the word cannon, I'm not sure if it should be added or not. I'll add it for now and see what people think. And Icicle Spear sounds like a good idea, since it launches solid objects.

I thought most people actually came to the conclusion that the "exotic" projectile moves could be included as Egg Moves/for Trace, Role Play, or Skill Swap abilities.

Well, yes, for Egg Moves, but not for the ability list. If we add moves like Water Gun, we would have to add a huge number of moves that are similar.

The anime is actually a big help in determining the nature of the moves, while Water Gun and Hydro Pump are shown as streams of water, Hydro Cannon is shown as [an] orb/s of water. That's also the reason I added Focus Blast, but in hindsight, it doesn't fit well enough.

OK, then I'll take Focus Blast off the list. So, I guess Hydro Cannon should stay on then.
Edit: Uh, nevermind Focus Blast wasn't on the list in the first place.

I'm gonna go completely grammar nerd here and say that it would always be "an orb of water" whether it's plural or singular.
ON TOPIC, in PBR, Hydro Cannon is a stream too.

You do realize that just because a move has the word Cannon in it doesn't mean it should be on the list. The criteria for the list is projectile moves. None of the Cannon moves are projectile moves. They are all beams or lasers or whatever they're called.

Water Gun & Flamethrower and all of the Special Hyper Beams & SolarBeam & Ice Beam & Aurora Beam should be on the list? If you ask me, they're all like Flash Cannon & Sand Cannon. The sass was just to get a point & argument across. But, that reminds me, Octazooka should be there too. It's actually like a projectile. Octillery could get the ability in a Double battle if its partner Skill Swapped it from the opponent and then Skill Swapped it again to Occtillery.

Neither sand, ice nor water can take the form of a beam or a laser, those are all forms of matter, if you haven't noticed.
But that presents a problem for some of the energy based moves like Flash Cannon, Zap Cannon and Tri Attack, how can we define an energy based move which is compatible with the Ballistics ability? I presumed that these energy attacks are extremely potent, which, although physics defying, can act somewhat like matter. An alternative to Zap Cannon is that the projectile is made from plasma, which fits a little more well to the Ability to some extent.

Just FYI, Hydro Cannon is a Water-starter exclusive tutor move in the games.

I'm not getting on the semantics of the ability itself though.

Look at Iron Fist: Hitmonchan gains powerup for ALL punching moves,even those it can't learn.

No pokemon that learns Hydro Cannon can gain this ability at the moment. Maybe in the future though.

No Water starter can learn Skill Swap right now.

A pokemon in a double battle could use Skill Swap on Artillerate and then on Blastoise. But I agree that Hydro Cannon should be left out.

But they're not projectiles. If you're shooting a stream of ice/water/sand/whatever it is, you're not shooting a projectile, because it's a constant pounding of the substance instead of one solid hit. When you Fling your item, the item is a projectile because it is a chuck of mass.

And remember, ANY Pokemon can get this ability with Skill Swap, even those who can't learn it.

Alright. For now, I'll take out Hydro Cannon. I'll leave the rest intact, unless there's still any reason as to why more of the list should be deleted.
