Mysticurl

This odd Pokemon, rarely found in the wild but very common in the household, is Mysticurl. Mysticurl are, by nature, extremely fortunate to have around--its amazingly good luck is what makes it a very desirable Pokemon to have around the home. People from all around Argeon (and even in other regions) try their hardest to find Mysticurl and train them so they can learn attacks such as Pay Day and Lucky Chant, thereby making them a boon to those in financial aid.

What most trainers don't know about Mysticurl, however, is their tendency to be extremely greedy and selfish once they know they've got a good thing going. Most Mysticurl will exhaust their Trainers of food and resources within a very short span of time, making the Trainers have to use the money they had recieved from their Twirling Pokemon to buy more things... the cycle is rather vicious, but Trainers never seem to heed the warnings of those who had released their own Mysticurl in days before.

In battle, Mysticurl is more defensive than anything, having a great amount of HP and Special Defense. Its Special Attack is also nice, allowing it to use moves such as Power Gem with no problem. While Mysticurl can learn any amount of different elemental moves, its moveset suggests a more Psychically oriented power lies dormant within.

(Mysticurl's Japanese name comes from tokage (meaning lizard) and kokatsu (meaning sly).)

Croakid
(コガエル - Kogaeru)

One of the three Starter Pokemon given away by Pokemon Professors in Argeon, Croakid is the requisite Fire-type. The first of a three-Pokemon evolutionary line, Croakid are great companions, being completely loyal to their Trainers during the heat of battle. It evolves into stronger toad Pokemon, who gain the Poison subtype upon evolution. For now, Croakid isn't strong enough to use Poison-type moves to a great extent, seeing as its poison glands are small and incapable of producing much more than mildly discomforting toxins. In the care of a Trainer, Croakid is capable of using powerful Fire-type attacks, as well as Poison-type attacks which are better used with its evolutions.

In battle, Croakid attacks with fiery moves such as Ember and Flame Wheel. The small horn on top of its head is, as of its first evolution, mostly for show, but in battle it will ignite as the Croakid works ever harder to ward off danger. Croakid are also capable of using Poison-type moves; one of the first signs that Croakid is ready to evolve soon is the the irregular belching of poisonous smog. Croakid can also use various other moves, such as Brick Break and Fire Punch, though only through TMs and Move Tutors.

While we're talking about moves, the Croakid line's signature move is a devastating Poison-type move known as Toxic Dart. A super-beefed up version of Poison Sting, Toxic Dart not only does a significantly more powerful 70 damage, it also has a small chance of inflicting a burn. Croakid learns it at a high level, but his evolutions learn it much earlier.

(Croakid's Japanese name comes from ko (a root word for "child") and hikigaeru (meaning "toad").)

It's a sort of acidic kind of poison. You know, chemical burns.

Plandmine
(ナスプロド - Nasplode)

Native to many areas of Argeon, Plandmine is a cunning, spiteful Pokemon whose sadistic tendencies and explosive behaviors have led it to be known as the 'hidden terror'. Normally hidden underground to collect nutrients from the soil, one can just barely make out their black caps, half buried in the ground. If stepped on, Plandmine will take much joy in exploding itself, harming itself and others around it. This Selfdestructive behavior is the cause of many angry Trainers and even angrier Pokemon.

Plandmine's diets are extremely exclusive. Scattered about Argeon are berries that, when consumed, help Plandmine store a vicious cocktail of chemicals and catalysts within its body. These two elements can combine within the very top chamber of a Plandmine's stem, resulting in a fiery Explosion capable of scorching the environment within a radius of about 10 meters. Enemies should take care not to aim for Plandmine's stem, but instead its fragile fruit-like body.

Plandmine are not the top of their food chain, however. Enterprising Gligar and Gliscor take much delight in plucking these Eggplant Pokemon from the ground--and with their hardened defenses, they easily resist their prey's natural tendency to blow up. Nincada have also been known to nibble on Plandmine that have rooted themselves into the ground. Pineco often have scuffles with Plandmine over territory.

(Plandmine is based off of the common eggplant. Its Japanese name comes from the Japanese word for eggplant (nasu) and explode.)
