Huh, looks like they've announced the Generation 5 cute little legendary (in the same vein as Mew and Jirachi). I've gotta say, Bikutini doesn't look particularly legendary to me. It might grown on me when we hear more about it or see it in action, but at the moment I'm not particularly impressed. Our Angelse seems more legendary to me.

Though the fact that it has the pokedex number of "000" is rather curious, and makes me wonder what that means.

I expect the name Bikutini will probably still be used in the English versions, considering all the names besides Shaymin were more or less unchanged, just had the spelling switched a little to make the pronunciation more clear. Which makes me think that this might be changed to "Biktini" or something, since sometimes the "u" in Japanese is more or less silent.

I wonder what element purpose Victini/Bikutini has. Whatever it is, it surely has no physical features to show it. The "Pokemon #0" thing makes it even more ominous.

See, this is the cool thing about being on a Pokemon forum. You get massive spoilers before anyone else even hears about the game.

Hmm, you may have a point about its name resembling "victory," since it's fingers are doing the "v for victory" sign. In both the Sugimori art and the sprite.

I'm very curious what the reason might be that it's #000... I'm a bit afraid Viktini is just slapped on as an afterthought, added to an already huge amount of new legendary pokémon...

I would hope it would have a good reason for being #000. Though the most obvious reason would be that it was considered the predecessor of all pokemon, but that legend is already taken up by Mew.

*shrug* Maybe it is not a Pokémon at all...maybe an unrelated type of similar creature stemming off. Like archosaurs. Pterosaurs and crocodiles are not dinosaurs, but are related to dinosaurs as they stemmed from the collective ancestor of all three groups. This way, Mew could be the ancestor of the "dinosaur branch" and Victini being a related, slightly older stage in the line towards the Pokémon group. Or Victini could be Mew's species "cousin", like Tarbosaurus to Tyrannosaurus, and...er, I really have no idea as to why it is numbered #000. Game Freak is obsessed with novel legendaries.

Maybe it's #000 because nobody knew it existed, without even legends, so they assumed it was 'Creator Of Pokemon'. They don't know that that niche is already taken by Mew because Isshu is to far away from Kanto so they don't know the legend. YES!

Maybe it's #000 temporarly so that we won't know how many pokemon are there in the Isshu dex (as it's a legendary, it'll come at the end).

In about two weeks we will get the master document which will include ne information and new pokemon in Black and White. The DP one had 11 new pokemon!

I doubt it - it would be much easier to just not tell us its number.
Also, EO, you were half-right. It is Chillarmy, as the romanization - not the actual name.

I hate that name though, so I hope it's not used..

Sometimes the Japanese names are not as good (to us English-speakers) as the English names. For all we know, it could be named something better eventually.

I do not like Chillarmy either. It makes slightly more sense if it were an Ice-type, and it is not.
