Slightly back on topic, and warning, this is extremely long, and a rant , I was thinking of how Nintendo could incorporate a place such as America into a Pokemon game, I stumbled across this, and it gave me an idea, when representing a real place in a fictional medium, does it really have to be totally alike? :
MacFarlane resided in Providence during his time as a student at Rhode Island School of Design, and the show, as a consequence, contains distinct Rhode Island landmarks similar to real-world locations.[39][58] MacFarlane often borrows the names of Rhode Island locations and icons such as Pawtucket and Buddy Cianci for use in the show. MacFarlane, in an interview with local WNAC Fox 64 News, stated that the town is modeled after Cranston, Rhode Island.[59]
Several times every episode, the actual Providence skyline can be seen in the distance.[39] The three buildings that are depicted are, from left to right and furthest to closest, One Financial Center, 50 Kennedy Plaza, and the Bank of America Tower. This ordering of buildings and the angle at which they are viewed indicates that Quahog is primarily west of downtown Providence if it is to have a real-world counterpart. However, in a few episodes Quahog is shown to have a coastline, which only Cranston and Providence possess. This is supported by the fact that the real-world "31 Spooner Street" is located in Providence, immediately west of Roger Williams Park.[60](Taken from Wikipedia's Family Guy page)Now, we all know Pokemon isn't Family Guy, but it makes one think of ways you could turn real world cities into fictional places. Of course, this also makes a New England state (like Long Island, and the Conn.-Mass. area could be one reigon, albeit flipped, and probably not all of Massachussetts should be represented) a perfect place to make into Isshu, seeing how easily you can anaglam landscapes (ie; Quahog is the equivalent of Providence, and is located close to Roger Williams Park, if it was a real place) to make a game is interesting! It may sound crazy, but it could be insight to the identity of the Isshu region, as a meshed version of New England: For example:Many great cities located in New England share multiple traits w/ Hiun City, such as:New York City. Manhattan, to be exact. This proves a point, though. The guys over the pond @ Gamefreak may be planning to create a reigon based off New England. Of course, there is the bridge:Which looks like a bridge similar to this:And the forests? Are like forests in New England:Sorry about the rantilicious rant, but it's something to ponder about. If you say I have no point, I'll give you this: Nintendo will obviously change it. For example, Hoenn is Kyushu flipped and turned sideways and a peninsula was removed, Isshu could be New England with bits and pieces taken off as well. Also, I'd love to see how Gamefreak handles a representation of America (if they're not harsh to us)!

I would rather have another Hoenn, than another Joh/Kanto. Plus, show me some forests/bridges that match the bridge and forest in the last two pics of Isshu.
