I really like this idea, but the sprite makes it seem to be grass/fire/ground. I feel like it should have a lot more grass and fire represented than it does because right now it makes me think sandshrew more than anything else.

Well, the coat it's wearing may be brown, but it is based off of a fireman's coat, which is why he has the thick fat ability. It also learns two ground moves (Dig and Sand Attack) already. I do agree with you though, it does look a lot like a ground type, but the idea wouldn't work if it was either Grass-Ground or Fire-Ground. Think of Flygon. It's Dragon-Ground, but it is also sort of a Flying type, thus the Levitate Ability.

Maybe it could have Lightningrod as a possible ability to go with its pseudo-ground-type-ness?

No, lightningrod would just make it take damage. I think fireproof would be better since it is wearing a fireproof vest.

Sor is correct about the fireproof vest. However, some fires are caused by lightning strikes, so Lightningrod is a possibility. I can't decide between Thick Fat, Lightningrod, and Leaf Guard. What are all of your ideas on that?

Lightning Rod means all electric attacks hit it in double battles, but it is usually coupled with a ground type so that is makes it immune.

If you evolve the first one right way, the pokemon would go 11 levels without learning a move. I think it should have some move somewhere in there, even if it is stat-changing.

I added Arboreum, but now i feel it's too overpowered. Can anyone give me a stat move that works for Acarid and isn't too good?
