Reason for Rejection:
Pyrix is too different to the Onix family. It may work as a standalone suggestion, or with a baby form shared with Onix.

Name: Emperock (Emperor and Rock)
Pokedex Type: The Core Pokemon
Height: 35'10" Weight: 984.1 lbs.
Type: Steel/Rock (i was thinking about steel/fire, since it lives in the outter core, but meh...)
Pokedex Entry: This pokemon recides at depths of nearly 3,000 miles below the earth. It can topple a mountain when disturbed.
Evolution: It evolves from Onix via a MossRock Stone.
Special Abilities: Flame Body/Rock Head
Moves: Emperock has been known to learn fire type special attacks, like Flamethrower and Fire Blast.
Lvl 50 - Flamethrower
Lvl 60 - Fire Blast
Lvl 70 - Overheat
Lvl 80 - Flare Blitz
Emperock can learn all these moves in their respected levels alternatively to the same moves Onix would normally learn.

There's no such thing as a MossRock Stone. Did you mean Leaf Stone? Or the Moss Rock that is in Eterna Forest (and I tihnk Grandis Forest too)

How does this possibly evolve from Onix? It isn't even similar except for the head. Maybe this could be a standalone or if it was to evolve from Onix it would need an extreme evolution method.

Was this originally a Steelix evo? Because it looks a lot like it, but Steelix definitely doesn't need an evo. @Flarsable: the MossRock Stone is in his other topic.

...Here's an extreme idea.

Whoever knows the deepest point in Bombur, and the way Nosepass and Magneton evolve in the games, put those two together and apply the result to this pokemon.

BTW, it looks mind-bogglingly awesome.

I don't think the name fits with the chain, though. Onyx...Steelix...Emperock?

Coryx...Magnix...or maybe even Empyrix? Or just Pyrix?

IMHO it should be at Ardor Volcano. BTW, how do Nosepass and Magneton evolve in Bombur?

So maybe have it evolve when leveled up in Mt. Ardor Pit (name I gave to a lava chamber deep within Mt. Ardor (like the Magma Pit in PMD:(R/B)RT))?

Empryx, possibly? BTW, I definitely think this should be Rock/Fire. Igneyx (IGNEous rock + YX suffix)? OMG, I got it! Granyx (GRANite + YX)!! That has to do with core pressure and volcanic rock!

I don't like it. The only thing the onix line should get is a pre-evo.

I would like to point out that the move list is too incomplete. Also, if it's Steel/Rock, and learns Fire-type moves, why does it use a Moss Rock to evolve? It doesn't make much sense. I do like the drawing, though.

Maybe it could evolve from Onix while holding a metal coat, trading, and know some fire move. Then it would evolve like Steelix but not be a direct evolution from Steelix. BTW, I think the picture is superb. Good luck getting it approved!

thnx 4 the info im not really good with names as you can see, so ill pick up on that...the moss rock is just called moss rock because..............................i have no clue. good idea, ill put that mt. coronet thingy instead...thanx. But all these are from my own fan game just puttin them here to see if they aproove, it would be an honor if my pokemon would end up in PF.

In Bombur:
- Magneton evolves into Magnezone and Nosepass evolves into Probopass by leveling up at Mt. Pinnacle Summit;
- there's a Moss Rock in Grandis Forest to evolve Eevee into Leafeon;
- there's an Ice Rock at the Askorun Wastes to evolve Eevee into Glaceon.

I like the name Pyrix. Granix would be another option, but we should definitely stick with the -ix suffix.
Also, if you want it to evolve by location, it should indeed level up at the "Ardor Volcano and Caverns".

Aren't the move levels a bit... too high? I mean, Flamethrower at 50! Phew! Really I've never seen many non-legends learn anything at 60. Let alone 80!
And... how does it look on land? Do the rocks levitate or are they connected by lava?
If the latter, it really should be Steel/Fire, considering that it learns three of the most powerful fire moves, and has freaking FLAME BODY as an ability. And, by the way, Ground type is supposed to be the dominant type in the Onix chain. If this is a direct evolution from Steelix, going to rock would not only be ditching the ground type, but also going a step back to Onix (sorta).
The Dex info needs a slight change. This Pokémon doesn't live at NEARLY 3,000 miles, it lives at MORE than 3,000 miles (around 3,200) if the "Outer Core" part is to be believed. And even so, it would be living at the very edge of the outer core.
Something else, seismic activities (which cause the mountains to "topple") happen because of movement in the Mantle, not the core. Okay, sorry, that may be going a bit too far.
But... butbutbut... toppling mountains seems like what GROUDON does, not some normal Pokémon. Though this may be nitpicking.

No, even Larvitar and Pupitar trample mountains (eat them, in Larvitar's case).
They just can't make them. I agree that Granix is a great name, but maybe Silicix? Granix is better, but silicate is a bit more relevant... Meh. Rock/Fire seems the best type to me.
