He just has knives. No blood or anything. Heck, it's not even implied that it kills things at all--it just scratches at things for fun.

Some people find the concept of weapons inappropriate. It doesn't matter if they are used, some people don't think kids should even LOOK at weapons.

Exactly. Besides, though i don't have a problem with the concept of knifes myself, i'd like to keep my weapons and my weepenbells in two completely different areas.

Ignoring my pun, i just can't imagine a pokemon with knifes. Try imagining a pokemon with a gun.

Actually, they banned an episode of Pokemon for just that reason (guns, though, not knives). Think of it like this though: Scyther has freaking SCYTHES for hands. And you always see it slashing through something ninja-style. Or how about the move GUILLOTINE? You know what a guillotine is? Its that french thing they use to decapitate people... My point being Pokemon has plenty of sharp-object related thing in it to justify a knife-wielding imp.

Well he is right. Scyther has very large blades for it. also Skarmory is nothing but blades put together to form a bird heck its tail is a can opener. I'm ok with this as long as his grin ain't sadistic and more like I like to cut trees down kinda thing.

There are many things wrong with this, but just to establish a visual basis...

One error is that it was hard for me to localize a proper shade of russet. I also took some liberties in removing the bluish stripes accentuating its limbs, because I imagined them looking like scars. I also made the knives a part of their body, from my own preferences in depicting them---so it is not like they are trying to look violent, merely because that is how they are constructed, or something like that. I could not make a proper "wide grin" that did not look insane, unnatural or saccharine, and I could have given it a smirk but you did not request that specifically.

That reminds me of Slashus from the Fan fiction Aquatro and the hunt for Mew-3. Shame thats not on the net anymore. I wish I'd put it on DA when I had the chance. Lot of good made up Pokemon in it. Very cool there Coolsteph.

Where was it stated that wild Feraligatr do that? None of the entries say anything about that, so it is possible that's just an unverified statement circulating. Although, if you want this topic to be locked, that does seem reasonable----this concept could be worked into something useful, but it might not be done most easily.

I feel like the Pearl dex could use some work. Maybe it could include something about it helping in butcher shops, that seems like a natural niche for this thing

Butcher shops are not actually so common anymore (they are mostly replaced with the "meat bakeries" in the supermarket), and besides, it brings bad imagery even if it is relevant. Perhaps "It helps people with chopping/slicing foods"?

"Meat bakeries"? *thinks of Mrs. Lovette* Anyways, I think we should keep this idea going. I don't think its too violent for Pokemon. However, this is merely MY opinion... which really doesn't matter, in the grand scheme of this topic...

(E.g, where you can get a baked chicken at Kroger. That is how I define a 'meat bakery', because they offer baked meats.) I do hope this Mrs. Lovette of which you are referring to does not come from gruesome horror movies or is an unusual and/or demented lady that really, really likes meat. On with the topic....

Perhaps it is from an Urban environment? Bastion City is the only place I can currently think of...
