"Ah, another new trainer," Aaron said. He'd had trainers come in who had beaten previous leagues before, but he imagined this boy would be quite accomplished to have beaten the well-known Dragon Tamer multiple times. Unless it was a different Lance, of course. "Well, then I imagine that you don't know what options we have for starters, so why don't I acquaint you with them?" Aaron stood up and walked over to a few tables that held groups of pokeballs, beckoning Drake to join him. "We have many choices for a new trainer; three different pokemon of each of the typical elements." He began pointing to different groups of pokeballs as he named their contents. "For Grass-types we offer Youthistle, Holliguana and Nutreed. Our Water-types are Sukus, Ninemone and Cherippo, and as for Fire-types, we have Comolten, Xoskillitn and Agunni. And finally, we also offer you the choice to select a random pokemon," he said, pointing to one last group of pokeballs that were set slightly apart from the rest. "We won't know what's in any of these until they're opened. So," he said as he turned toward Drake with a smile. "Which one interests you?"

"Very well then," Aaron said as he pointed to the appropriate group once more, "choose any one of them, and let your new pokemon out so you can meet it. Once you've done that, you can find out more about it by returning it to its pokeball and placing it on that scanner," he said, pointing to a machine in one corner. The boxy device was simple, with a slot for a pokeball and a screen on its front.

"Now then" Aaron said, "before you head out you have one more thing to do here. If you'll just follow me, please..." He led Drake through a door at the back of the lab, which opened to a room with no ceiling and living turf for a floor. In the grass were rows of white flowers, which marked out the lines for a pokemon battlefield. "Your last task here is your first PFL Gym battle, against me! Ready?"

Gym Leader AARON Wants to Fight!

(OOC: Sorry about the wait, final exam time's been keeping me busy.)

Aaron looked a bit surprised and looked up as the Postork left, spotting the flock of Postork that was flying by overhead. "Huh, is it that time already? I didn;t know Nidivum Town's May festival had started already." He shrugged and said, "Well I guess that Tiquail's yours to keep. But just to make this battle fair, you won't be able to use it here."

Meanwhile, Xo had successfully attacked and knocked over Nevermore, but the bird was already back on its feet. "Now, Growl!" Aaron said.

His pokemon looked right at Xo and gave it a loud growl.

Nevermore flinched back a bit at the sharp look Xo had given it.
