Normgon crawled forward, her body glowing white to Tackle Kraken's side.

''Sableye, use Scratch on Sparquail!'' Steph commanded. Sableye bounded towards Sparquail---and tripped. After all, it was only to be expected; it was not a Sableye's natural gait to be quadrupedal.

With Sableye's Keen Eye, he remained unfazed and swiped repeatedly at Sparquail, trying to knock her down with Scratch.

''Norm Norm Norm!'' Normgon exclaimed, ramming into Kraken several times more. 'Bummah, numb Gya'dos!'

(Irked, not urked. Dragon Rage's standard power of deducting 25 health points, remember? Wow, with ShinE busy with other things it seems we are monopolizing this topic with our battle...I hope that does not bother Drufle.)
The Dragon Rage hit Normgon, engulfing her in bluish flames momentarily. Dragon Rage's standard power limit let her endure the attack, although it did manage to weaken her.

Normgon generated another two cloudlike puffs of Yawn, which floated towards Kraken's face as Normgon attempted to resume her Tackle attacks.

Sableye continued to use Scratch on Sparquail until it seemed she was knocked unconscious. Not waiting for Seth to recall her, Sableye bounded over to Gyarados to help Normgon.

(40? Oh dear....Sableye, I think, has endured enough damage, correct? Oh, and you referred to Sparquail, which is female, as an it...hmm, maybe I should give my own Tiquail a specific gender. Maybe male, since everyone else's Tiquail seems female.)
Sableye squawked as Sparquail Pecked his face, and, not being able to anticipate the attack, could not defend himself at such close range. He weakly tried to push Sparquail away, before he collapsed onto his side with a whimper of Faintedness.

''Sableye, return.'' Steph recalled Sableye and brought out her only other option. If I still possessed Ariados...things would be different...

''Go, Tiquail!''

''Tiq, Tiq?'' Tiquail chirped, ruffling its wings. On seeing Gyarados, it chirped in fear and ran over to Steph. ''Tiquail, you can fight Sparquail--the other Tiquail---instead.'' Steph suggested.

''Tiq?'' Tiquail chirped, turning its head quizzically, before walking back to its position and locating Sparquail. Confused on having to battle another of its kind, it paused, looking at her with a few mild chirps.

Then, Normgon started to wobble in her crawl, finally acknowledging the full extent of the last Dragon Rage's damage. Faltering in her attack, she weakly tried to Scratch Gyarados once more, unsuccessfully, before she collapsed.

''Normgon. Return.''

Now, it is only Tiquail. I am doomed. Steph regretted the loss of Ariados even more.

''Tiquail, Gyrados is sleeping now, and is probably still Confused from Thrash. Could you attack Gyarados now?''

Tiquail chirped curiously.

''We need to make our opponent's Pokémon faint in order to win.'' Steph explained shortly but gently to Tiquail.

Tiquail cheeped to Sparquail once before turning around and walking towards Gyarados. ''Use Tackle!''

''Tiiii.....'' Tiquail chirped, as if about to cry. After all, he was a baby. He then began to wail outright, before scurrying over to Steph for a hug, upset over what seemed to be a friend attacking him. Steph knelt and held the distraught Tiquail in her arms. ''Tiquail, it is only battling. Sparquail does not dislike you.'' ''Tiq Tiq Tiq....'' Tiquail babbled, querulously but unintelligibly, before reluctantly shifting out of Steph's grasp and looking for something on her waist. ''Tiq? Tiq Tiq?'' Tiquail chirped, puzzled at one missing Poké Ball. ''Ariados cannot battle for you, because I do not have Ariados anymore.'' Steph muttered lowly, guessing what Tiquail was asking---if Ariados could battle for him. ''Tiq Tiq?'' Tiquail remarked confusedly----now he was tapping at her own Poké Ball. ''Oh. You only wanted to be back in...Tiquail, if I recall you now, the battle is forfeit. I thought you wanted to win.''

Upset again, but for different reasons--Tiquail did not want to disappoint Steph--Tiquail rushed back onto the battlefield. Tiquail hopped in place, scattering debris towards Sparquail in a nonviolent option, Sand-Attack, before rushing towards Kraken to attack again.

(We will need to finish this quickly, with Calleo finally around.)

''That would be a problem..Tiquail does not want to battle Sparquail. I would not want to force him either....''

Steph, feeling a little begrudging---how could she, Champion of two regions, withdraw from a battle like this? Better than an outright loss, through, and she always felt so vulnerable when all her Pokémon Fainted.

''Tiq Tiq!'' Tiquail chirped as Steph raised his Poké Ball up to recall him. Not understanding him---he was only a babbling baby, anyway---Steph tried to guess from tone and context. ''You want to fight Sparquail now?''

''Tiq....''' Tiquail stated a little reluctantly, as if he were only doing this as to not disappoint Steph.

''Use FeatherDance!''

Tiquail fluffed out his feathers and puffy down floated through the air towards Sparquail.

Steph shrugged. She thought of informing Seth that her Tiquail could not fly, so his Sparquail would have an unfair advantage, but he might disregard that anyway, and if she was to be doomed in battle, at least she could give her opponent some satisfaction in utilizing an exciting technique. ''Go ahead.''

"Tiquail, zigzag and use Sand-attack!''

Tiquail chirped, kicking clouds of sand behind his feet as he zigzagged away from Sparquail, before whisking the dusty cloud towards Sparquail with a flap of wings. The tiny pits Tiquail formed in the earth gave Steph an idea.
