I think they should have Abilities like Flash Fire or Water Absorb.
Hydrerrid could use Water Absorb
Turbee could use a new ability... Wind Capture, perhaps?
Solant could use Solar Panels.

Genericket does sound a little bizarre, but I can't think of another name. Aside from that, this is coming along nicely.

I tame the burninators.

Here's how the Slakoth line really goes through evolution:

Slakoth drinks a Red Bull, causing it to get hyper and evolve into Vigoroth.
The caffeine rush ends, causing Vigoroth to evolve into Slaking.

I actually have one question for this idea, why limit the concept to being bugs? I can imagine this more as a chain made up of big, bulky humanoids or something equally as epic with their respective generators on their back or shoulders.

Bugs might be more original or interesting, or merely a challenge to make. Besides, Bug-types seem to need more....cool, original representatives and concepts. Considering Genericket (if I spell the name correctly) has multiple forms, giving each form an evolution of its own (which could be somewhat more humanoid) would be too consuming of the limited Dex space. Unless, other people differ. Making beetles bipedal ("humanoid") is easy enough, but I do not know about ants in the case of Solant.

No, Genericket (you spelled it right) has only one form, with different evolutions. But I think where Cacapulse is gopign with this is that Bug is the fourth most common type.And Water is right behind it. But Light is in the middle and Wind is near the end.

No, Cacapulse was not talking about the type distribution, but about this concept. He thinks the energy concept could be more epic if the pokémon were bulky humanoids. However, an alternative idea could be that all bugs evolve yet another time, becoming large bulky bugs (like Heracross, Pinsir, Wheatvil).

ShinEdit: the name Illuminant (Illuminate + Ant) just popped into mind. It could be a new name for Solant, but if they all were to evolve, it could also be the evolution's name.

That's....taking Wurmple a step further.

Mostly it is the Wind Bug that seems the oddity of the group. It seems not much attention is given to it, so it could be removed (unless your opinions differ on the matter, of course.)

Ah, Wheatvil....one of my favorite PF Pokémon. I have made some possible artwork for Illuminant, but I cannot make it "bulky", and have difficulties in making it "humanoid", unless having gangly (typical insectoid, "segmented", long proportioned) limbs and a limited ability to be bipedal (like bears---they can be bipedal to some extent, but only to facultative purposes. It is not their natural form of locomotion) is counted as humanoid. It has nice ant jaws, through.

Turbee was the Wind-type's name. I do think we should keep the Wind-type as well; it's nice to represent that type of energy as well ^-^
Also, it seems the water one is called Spydro now, so the evo could be called Hydrerrid or something.

That said, I don't want to force evos on you all, but if you like them, I'm looking forward to their info ^-^

Spydro? I suppose I am the only one here who is reminded of Spyro the Dragon whenever I read that name. I wonder if my artwork of Illuminant will ever see some usage. This entire line appears to be a conceptual foray, a diversifying experiment. I do not think anyone has made concept art for Turbee, yet, if needed. I lack interest in making art for Turbee, which is probably why I did not recall its name earlier.

Just a little input. I'd try and stay away from the cricket theme for Genericket. Not only do we already have Bricket but also Mimicket (which is quite similar to this one in the number of evolutions), and both of these names are quite similar to Genericket. Also, when I hear the name Genericket I can't help but think of Rickets disease, and I don't think thats what were going for here. o.o

Mimicket wasn't ever approved, was it? But no, Rickets disease was NOT what I was going for. I didn't know its existence until now. So maybe we could see what we could do with trogdor's beetle generator idea for the first one.

Well, I wasn't thinking a beetle, per se, just a beatle larva since I originally intended all of them to be beetles. However, seeing as that we've decided to use more than just beetles, I think a larva for the base pokemon (genericket as of now) would be best.

I tame the burninators.
