Nah at a atomic level electricity is a common thing.. After all Electricity is made with Sub atomic particles. Heres just a few things I think. I'd go with Electric and Psychic. Not sure why but it just seems to suit it. Next I would suggest it being at least as tall as 8" as it would be hard to see otherwise. And Zap cannon should be in its moves list. I hope I helped.

Maybe it gets its own abitlity that does something good but makes Atom Split a OHKO on it (having 30% accuracy, of course)

This reminds me a lot of Botispine's Raditom, the "Atom Pokémon" (at the very end of this page). Is there a way you could differentiate your idea more from it?

I agree with Zeldafan about the typing. Any other type won't seem right.

Pokémon Factory Worker

You describe Elematom as "a blue ball with electrons around it", which is pretty much exactly what Raditom looks like. The only substantial difference would be the "Kirby-like eyes", as opposed to Raditom's single, large eye, but I don't think that's enough to justify it.

Of course, the fact that both of these Pokémon have "Atom" as their classification means that you're working with pretty much the same concept as the one behind Raditom. Granted, Raditom also incorporates radiation, but the point is that they're remarkably similar. Perhaps you might want to rethink the idea in general to make it something entirely different to Raditom.

Yeah, you're right. Too many similarities.
It could be a branched evo, though, like Flarsable said. Elematom could be a non-poison alternative to Radicule.

Bellossom had wiggle room; its family was Grass/Poison, and it threw out the Poison, while still having Grass. What does Raditom have to fall back on if you edge out the Poison? Nadda.
