Zoroark's name comes from zorro, Spanish for "fox", and "dark". "

Bulbapedia seems to think it's not "entirely Japanese" - or at all.

And if it's a couterpart of Lucario (like some of us seem to think, me included), isn't it a bit weird that Zoroark doesn't have a secondary type? Oh, well. :/

I was wondering that as well - but it's entirely possible it has a secondary type and we don't know. I think it's fighting.
Now... and I know this seems like a stretch, but my friend suggested this... what if it's secondary type is a new type altogether?

Yeah, also magnemite had STEEL added to its electric type, I thought Voltorb should get one too. But the focus was Jigglypuff, so yeah... and attacks like Rollout.

My suggestion for Zorua's name is zorro + rua, the Spanish for "fox" and the Irish for "red hair colour". This becomes more likely when you consider the Irish for fox; madra rua, literally "red dog".

You've got a point there- I always did think that Voltorb got robbed when Magnemite got Steel and Voltorb stayed pure Electric- how is a magnet more steel than a mechanical ball? Never got that one.

This makes a lot of sense. I think spot on. I really like Zorua anyways, but it's name seems much cooler now too. You're Irish, right MS? I remember from that pokemon... the one that was a rock turtle and a monument, and changed depending on the solstice and whatnot...

D4 and South Tipp are places.
