"Great. More of them. You just had to drag me away from the one we were dealing with, and winning against!" As she finished her rant, Rikku sent out another wave of Confusion-inducing waves at the three, in an attempt to disorient their new enemies. "Well, don't just stand there! HELP ME!"

Rikku backed off slightly, and looked at them. "I can tell they're not normal. Luxio normal love light and warmth and energy... These ones seem, I dunno... cold, and distant..." Rikku thought for a moment, and then slapped her forehead. "Heartless! Off course. I know now. These things are SHADOW Luxio." When she saw Mirroroar give her a somewhat confused look, she decided to explain. "Shadow Pokémon are created in various ways, most often when survival instincts drive them to close their hearts to the world for protection. Some were created by humans long ago, but others..." She looked at the three Luxio, still reeling from the light. "Some are created when the dark force of some unknown evil infect their heart with darkness and seals it without their knowing or consent."

Rikku whirled on the spot, eyes blue and her mind ready to instill confusion in the new enemy. She fell short. What she saw was the proud figure of a Luxray towering above them. "Well, I think I can honestly say we're done for..." she said, tossing Mirroroar a fool-hardy smirk. "Wanna fight anyway?"

"Sounds like a plan, I suppose. My Trace ability can't get anything other than blind fury out of them, so I suppose we'll just have to trust to our supposedly lucky stars," Rikku said. She turned to the Luxio, then back to the Luxray, and held up her hands. "Okay... We surrender!" she said.

As Rikku watched in horror, she felt a sharp pain in the back of the head as she was also dragged off. Darkness began to eat away at her vision, and slowly, she faded from consciousness.

Rikku grumbled as the sunlight struck her face. It was bothering her nap... Wait; sunlight? Rikku's eyes shot open as she sat bolt up. She was in a desert of some sort. "No..." she said. It couldn't- COULD NOT- be Cargan Desert. She did a full spin to confirm her suspicions. Everything was tan sand as far as the eye could see. A deep chuckle sounded behind her. As she turned, there was a dark shadowy figure looking out across the sands. The top of its head seemed to give off a wisp of white smoke, and a ring of red... spikes? teeth? something... went around its shoulders. It laughed again. "Take a look at this barren place," it said, not turning to look at her. "To the heart seeking freedom, this desert is a prison disguised with blue skies." It paused, and then raised its arms to the sky. "But a mere child sought to escape this prison... and opened her heart to darkness." Rikku's temper flared. "That's not true! I accepted a job that would take me far from this place, that's ALL," she said. The thing turned around, and she was caught off guard by the icy blue eye that looked back at her. It stared at her for what felt like eons, before turning around again. "Nap time's over," it said; Rikku gasped as the world turned on its axis and she began to fall into the increasingly hazy sky.

Rikku rubbed her head and groaned. Where were they? And what did that dream- no, that nightmare- mean for her and Mirroroar? Many questions were buzzing around in her head, when she looked over to see the Mirroroar was still not awake. She tiptoed over and shook him. "Wake up!" she hissed. "Wake up!"

"Hmmm..." Rikku said, tapping against the wood of the tree with her hand. "Let's see... I'd say this tree is an oak, and it's producing about an F Flat... So it would be about..." Rikku crunched the numbers in her head; it was a thieves' talent she had acquired. "Five feet thick," she announced. "I can't break anything harder than glass... Can you bust it down?" she asked, looking at Mirroroar hopefully.
