Emily groaned as she woke up from her unconscious rest. She was lying face down in something... it was cold, and hard. She opened her eyes, and saw it was
marble, which was lit up by the full moon over head that was shining through a hole in the roof. She also saw that it was snowing slightly. It wasn't her
favourite feeling, being cold and lying with her face to the floor, but she checked, and all her limbs were there and working, so she was good. That was, until
she sensed a very dark aura in the room... No, it wasn't an aura, it was a lack of an aura. She sensed the life, but not the soul.
She stood, and saw that at the other end of the room was a dark figure. It chuckled slightly, and it was a deep and hollow voice. "So, you're awake? Funny, since not many mortals survive the trip here," the figure said. Emily noticed that it was feminine, but not truly a female. Just another of Exodus' guises. "I've come to make you pay, Exodus," Emily said, keeping both eyes on it. "You stole all thirty-three Orbs... Even taking one Orb upsets balance in Bombur!" she cried. The figure chuckled. "The fate of that place is no longer my concern... I have what I wanted from it, and now I leave it to wither and die." Emily roared, lunging at the figure. Her spikes on her fists were of no use in actual fights; they just served to make her look cooler. Still, she threw a few good punches, which knocked Exodus on its back. It responded by leaping up and kicking Emily, adding an Electric charge to it. They both dug in one foot for leverage, and threw punches, but Exodus used the time orb to slow things down. Both hits connected, but Exodus imbued its punch with Fire, and sent them both flying in an explosion, which lit the surrounding area, which Emily noticed was a temple made of marble and moonstone, with blazing flames. Exodus landed on its feet, but Emily hit a pillar and landed on her fists. As she got back up, she saw Exodus approaching, the fire from behind it making it nothing more than a silhouette.
Emily only just blocked another kick imbued with flame before getting into a furious fist fight with Exodus. Exodus sweep-kicked Emily, and she tumbled, rolling out of the way as Exodus pounced, actually creating a crater where the kick landed. She managed to kick Exodus in the leg, and then the head while it was still wincing. They returned to the fist fight, blow being exchanged almost faster than the naked eye could discern. Suddenly, Exodus grabbed Emily and threw her into a pillar. Emily, however, grabbed it and used it as a turn style, grabbing Exodus' head with her legs, flipping into a handstand, and flinging it straight through another pillar. As she jumped and went for another attack, Exodus threw fireballs at her, forcing her to do a mid-air flip to dodge and making her land off target. Her impact caused a crater, which made Exodus jump and flip to avoid being damaged. They were perilously close to a wall of fire, and each was trying to push the other in. Finally, Emily managed to get Exodus to kick into the fires, but Exodus extinguished them by burying its foot in Emily's side.
As Emily shrugged off the pain, they began to fight faster and harder, until Emily actually forced Exodus back a few feet to avoid a kick. One of its hands glowed green, the other began issuing black gunk. Exodus ran in, got Emily in the stomach with the green hand and the eyes with the hand with black gunk. She was sent flying, and when she tried to get up, she doubled over in pain. Her insides felt weird, and she could barely see. AS her world faded, she closed her eyes, and felt the aura swirling around her. Exodus came at her, but she blocked every punch and kick in an amazing display of what the humans call Mantis Style. Eventually, she caught one of Exodus' arms, and forced her palm into the shoulder. Out popped a light brown orb, and Emily kicked Exodus away before snatching it. She felt power, and punched the ground. A shockwave rolled out from her punch, and Exodus had to jump to avoid it. As they fought more, Exodus pulled out the stops, sending lightning and ice blast Emily's way. Emily caught Exodus again, this time forcing it to the floor and ramming it in the side with her knee. Out popped a silver orb, and Emily grabbed it as well. She felt faster, and soon was overtaking Exodus, forcing orbs out every few hits. Soon it was backed up against a column, and had to duck out to avoid a flurry of hits. Several brightly colored orbs now littered the ground. As Exodus went to go pick one up, though, Emily ran up, dug in, and forced all her power into the center of Exodus' back. Every orb it still had popped out simultaneously, and Exodus itself was sent flying. Emily quickly gathered the orbs and left that cold temple where day never came. The journey back was made easier by the orbs, and Emily felt sure that Exodus would stay quiet for a while due to their battle...
