I really wouldn't mind if Ghastlynajar was a real pokemon. It seems so well thought out like it doesn't seem like a gag at all. (I know what it's based on) I would feel sorry for the thing and set it free.

But the only problem is that Gastlynajar has 11 letters, while the maximum is 10.

One of the biggest reasons Gastlynjar is a Gag pokémon is the same reason that our take on Pikablu is a gag: It's really just a Gastly in an odd situation. There's not enough change from a normal Gastly to merit being treated like a different pokémon. At most, the thing would act in battle like a Gastly with a nasty status condition that prevents it from using any attacks. I suppose a Fighting, Rock or Steel attack used on it might remove the status condition, at which point it would just be an ordinary Gastly.

I've just noticed something that makes the Gag Pokemon so cool. It's that even though they are funny, I can imagine some of them as official Fakemon: mostly Aggravole, Tofurkey, Trapburger, Dangelous, Bonskitten, Gastlynajar, Rock, Paper, Scissors, Origami, Tissused, and Normgon.

These were so funny! I loved the "abnormal" and "food" types, I guess Bite, crunch and swallow one hit KOs them huh?
It´s funny I have seen foldicrane err... I mean Origami before as a fan-made pokémon.
