Alright! Last time, the game took place in the left side of the pool. Today's swimming will be on the right. I am in a thermal suit with warm water flowing constantly in the suit, but it still feels extremely cold. Why? Because I'm underwater! I can see the bellies of the Pokémon getting ready for the event.

Three...two...one... GO! I may be underwater, but the cheers of the crowd is very loud and clear!
Empoleon, a penguin, is used to this temperature and darts right ahead!
Lapras and Dewgong, ice types, also race forward.
Look at Politoed! Obviously it doesn't like the freezing water. It seems to be hurt from the cold! Oh! It's frozen solid. Wait, if the water freezes Politoed, then why doesn't the entire pool freeze itself?
Engineer: I can answer that! Everybody knows that salt water freezes at a lower temperature than normal water. In the pool water, we have added a transparent, tasteless, and smell-less mineral, so it will freeze at -50 degrees Celsius, not 0. The water temperature right now is -45.

The two serpents, Milotic and Gyarados are competing mightily. Swish! Swash! Just look at them Tail Swipe each other!
Oh! Gyarados used bind! It curled around the other serpent, taking its speed, then propels itself off of Milotic, leaving her in the dust.

Now, let's look at Ditto. WHAT!? It's still in its normal state, on land! What is it planning to do?
*BOUNCE!!!*
Looooooook at that leap! ricocheting off the shore, it lands right on top of Milotic! Using the momentum, it propels itself forwards, lands on Gyarados, jumps again, and lands on Lapras, who is currently in the lead. Lapras doesn't notice it as Ditto crawls up the neck and onto the head. Lapras is approaching the finish! Ditto reaches out and it wins! Ditto wins! Congrats, Pielord!

No, no. That can't work. It is a Swimming competition, therefore, participants must swim. The rulebook says that not participating in the actual event (swimming) forces disqualification.
Also, I've never heard of a move called Tail Swipe.

@Flarsable- JDL probably is saying "Tail Swipe" as an action, not a pokemon-move.

And I agree with Flarsable on the fact that ditto never did swim, so technically it should be disqualified as well.

Let's see the re-play.
Ditto hops onto Milotic, Then Gyarados, but when it jumps onto Lapras, it slips a bit and falls into the water for a second. It flaps its... body? and gets back on Lapras.

When the event says, "Ditto is still on land," does that mean it's running across the side of the pool or still at the starting line? Either way, I'm not sure exactly how far a ditto could jump. I mean, it's a blob. I'm not going to vote, because Ditto being disqualified would mean I win.

@JDLJDL: That's still not swimming. And even if it was, it was only for a second. In order for it to countk it had to be the WHOLE time. NO, WAIT!!! YOU'RE A LIER!!! I was reading the event, and he never slipped. He never even got wet. Here's Ditto's section:

CPed dirrctly from event post. Just compare (without editing first!).
@Drufle: It's a personal question. Vote for what you think is right. I think you should've won, because Lapras was in the lead, fair & square.

But wait, Gyarados has the highest Speed stat (81) along with Milotic, followed by Dewgong (70), and then both Lapras & Empoleon with 60. So how would that in reverse operation (Lapras & Empoleon beating Dewgong, who's beating Gyarados & Milotic)?

Then in regards to Flarsable's comments, I think that Ditto should have been swimming the entire time to be eligible for winning. I vote should.

Heh, sorry. Oh, and Lapras was ahead because it was accustomed to the cold. Gyarados and Milotic were half-frozen. Politoed... encased in ice!
The stats don't always matter. Heck, my Venusaur is faster than my rival's Charizard in LeafGreen! And I beat Sonic in 100m dash with Bowser in M&S at the Olympic Games.

Hmmm... I feel that Ditto possibly COULD have won. However, the method in which it did win is not swimming. Sorry Pielord.
@Flarsy: When JDL was talking about the replay, he was adding that in to justify Ditto. Also, the stats really aren't the absolute factor - Gyarados, even with high speed, would be half frozen because of its intolerance to cold. Milotic has a tolerance, but it's slower - it would be about even. Dewgong, Empoleon, and Lapras all live in icy water naturally. It makes sense that they would win the event.

Yeah, but then wouldn't Dewgong have won (no I'm not trying to win, it's just general. I would've said the same thing if it was anyone elses) seeing that out of the three adapteds it has the highest Speed stat?

Still, stats don't always matter. This game isn't to compete who has the highest stats. In the very first (or maybe second) Pokélympics topic, I said that Caterpie has a small chance of winning a Rapidash in the games.

Here we are today at the ice rink! A small strip has been sectored off for Fencing.
First up in the Preliminaries...

PielordDX's Charizard vs Soble92's Blaziken

This is a chivalrous event, both Pokémon look like honorable knights from the Medieval age! Not really.
Salute!
Salute des Armes. The two contestants start waving their swords around and performing various moves.

They are practice Assaulting. How graceful. Okay! The event is about to start!
EN GARDE!

*Shing! Blaziken is the first to move. It lunges forward and strikes Charizard. Quickly, Charizard ducks, performs a parry, and stabs Blaziken from below. However, it slips on the icy surface and runs into Blaziken. Corps-à-corps!
Avertissement! shouts the referee. Charizard is given a Yellow Card.

The match continues. This is a first-to-5 game.
Charizard flaps its wings and stabs first this time around. Blaziken tried to parry, but failed.
1-0!

The two start at the same time this time. Their swords collide, and they press on, trying to strike to opponent. Oh! Blaziken's hands are BLAZING! It should be careful, as one slip will result in a penalty. With amazing speed, Blaziken stabs Charizard.
1-1!

Another round, Blaziken's hands and feet are burning hot as ever! The two Pokémon are now engaging in a HOT battle! Fléche! Bind! Recover... and Compound Attack! Feint feint Extension Parry FLICK! Bweeeeep!
1-2

Is the ice melting? Yes it is! The heat from Blaziken's hands and feet and Charizard's tail and mouth must be HOT. They engage in another round of battle, and with one SWISH! Blaziken cuts its opponent's sword in half! Wow, that has never happened before! Uh-oh, looks like Charizard is angry. It grabs hold of Blaziken (No! That's a penalty!), spins around and swings it on the ice, uses Frustration and Rage at the same time, and throws Blaziken out, transforming it into a fireball! ROOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAR!!!

Bweep! The referee gives Charizard a Black Card! No! He's Disqualified!
