Well I thought I would make this to ask the staff questions related to my rpg topic but if any body wants to ask me something post it here.

1. I don't really understand how I can get a secondary trainer?

2. Can I find a bulbasaur and chase it around for awhile?

Pokémon Factory Worker

Right now you only have a single main character. If you would like another one then you need to go through the same process as you did with Andy. You place a registration post in the Registration topic and then I review it and if your character meets the correct standards then it will get approved. You are then suppose to get your first pokemon from Aaron and battle him, just like Andy. If you want a Rival then you must register him as a rival. You need to keep me posted on what kind of pokemon your rival has.

You may find and capture a bulbasaur if you would like.

Edit:(directed to staff) I was just wondering, as I kind of want to get Cynthia out of the first gym so I can catch that bulbasaur, why isn't anything happening in the PFL anymore?

Because I know that you brought in that rule that says all staff members can be gym leaders, but nobody has really used it and I was just wondering if you were planning something.

I have two questions for the staff:

1. Where would I find a moon stone?

2. What do I do if a pokemon I have has no damaging moves?

1. The earliest place where it would make sense to find a Moon Stone would be Bastion City, where you might be able to find a few for sale by a street vendor.

2. If it's your starter, PF Staff will arrange for it to have a damaging attack, as an Egg move or TM or something. If it isn't your starter, use the same method you would in the games; as long as it participates in a battle, no matter how minor a role it plays, it'll gain EXP. You could also buy a TM in Bastion City to teach it a damaging attack, assuming there's one it can use.

#18 Egg Moves A player is allowed to add four Egg Moves to the list of natural moves a certain Pokémon is able to learn.
I can give my Igglybuff an egg move!

Oh... darn it!

I wonder why it doesn't say bred pokemon only there?
If it is meant to, the staff should probably change it so that it says bred pokemon only, though I don't see why a pokemon from the wild couldn't know any egg moves.
This is puzzling, but it would help if we actually knew how pokemon eggs came about.

@ flarsable: So people don't mistaken that the rule doesn't work for all the Pokemon.

And with the RPG starters (getting a bit off topic here), have the staff ever given anyone a Magikarp for a starter because if they did, it would have to learn Bounce, a move that is exclusively learned by DW Magikarp (doubted would be allowed as a starter) and move tutored to Magikarp in Gen IV (if it does learn Bounce then I might have liked to get it as a starter, even though i haven't been approved as of yet).

Actually, that "Anything from a Magikarp to a Dratini" bit was written before we sat down and tried to figure out how this would work. We have a certain list of pokémon that it's possible to get as a random starter, and neither Magikarp nor Dratini are on it. Dratini could have been, but the list was so long that we were able to use only the very most suitable options and still have a ton of choices; the latest version of the list, which includes Nintendo's 4th-gen species and PF's 3rd-gen species, has over 200 random starter choices.

Can we please stick to my question about whether the egg moves rule allies to Pokemon in the wild cause if it doesn't it probably should say so in the rule.
