BLEEP BLEEP BLEEP!
Zach woke up quite panicked from his alarm as he usually did, but this time instead of going back to sleep he rose from his bed ready to start a new adventure.
He sluggishly hauled himself to the dresser and found his favorite clothes and put them on. He grabbed his Backpack and per as mother's request packed plenty of underwear. He also packed 3 pens and a notepad, along with a camera, and a map of the region. He thought he would be set so he went downstairs to eat his breakfast, he ate hurriedly to try and get out as soon as possible, before he left he took his Hat and a watch.
He Hurriedly ran to Anchore Lab, thoughts raced in his mind "I wonder what pokemon i'll get?" "What pokemon could i get?" "I wonder if i can get any good photos of me and my pokemon?"

He slowed down as to not barge in the door, he opened the door slowly and walked in amazed by everything he saw
"Hello-" he took out his notepad and looked
"ah that's right" he mumbled to himself
"Hello Proffesor Idaho? I'm here to get my first pokemon!"

(Not going to do this the nice way, huh? Fine then, we do it the not-nice way.)

Inside the computer systems at the PokÃ©mon Factory HQ, an alarm started beeping. "Wha-" Poryhedron noted the alarm's source. "Aaron's lost possession of his Basic Gym team Nevermore!? How'd that happen?" Immediately Poryhedron ducked into the wireless router, and at the speed of light, transferred itself to the network servers in Anchore Lab.

Checking security camera feeds, Poryhedron spotted the "novice" trainer with what seemed to be a Snag Machine variant. "Geez, what happened to the days when ne'erdowells snuck in through back windows and stole unattended pokÃ©balls?"

Noting the exact geographical location of the altered pokÃ©ball, Poryhedron jumped from the Lab into the island's pokÃ©mon storage network and then straight into the PokÃ©ball holding Nevermore. A quick alteration of the ball's coding caused it to transfer Nevermore back into Aaron's pokÃ©mon storage account. A second alteration introduced a bizarre glitch that left the ball unable to open or recall pokÃ©mon.

Poryhedron had one more trick up its nonexistant sleeve. Scanning the changes this "Shadow Baller" had made to the pokÃ©ball, it found the wireless channel the device used to interface with pokÃ©balls. Bouncing from the pokÃ©ball to the storage network to the Lab's servers and then into a wireless signal scanner, it used the channel data to transfer itself directly into the Shadow Baller. A few fun little tweaks later, Poryhedron rode the channel back from the device to the nearest pokÃ©ball (which happened to be Vulcant's) and back to the storage network, where it sent Nevermore back into Aaron's pokÃ©ball as an afterthought.

Two seconds later, the Shadow Baller kicked into overdrive, flipping Vulcant's pokÃ©ball between Storage and Deployment sizes at a rapid rate. Nikko tried to shut the device off, but it didn't seem to be responding to any of its controls...finally the Shadow Baller's CPU overheated, there was a pop, and smoke started pouring out of the now-useless device.

Pokémon Factory Worker

Aaron walked in the main part of the lab from a back room when he heard the new trainer calling. "Hello there," he said. "Prof. Idaho's away at the moment, but I'm his aide, Aaron, and I can help you. You look like you're here to start your pokemon journey. Do you know which pokemon you'd like, or do you need me to tell you what choices we have?"

"Hmm I never really put any thought into the pokemon I wanted, so i think i'll choose a random one," zach said.
Zach walked over to where the random pokeballs were located and felt the first one he saw.
"this one has a certain feeling to it..." he mumbled to himself
"Come on out!"Zach said as he released the pokemon from the pokeball

Suggestions Board Manager

Light poured from the pokéball, gathering on the floor and coalescing into...a sort of pyramid-shape...as the light faded, though, the pokémon was revealed to be a coiled serpent. It lifted its purple head and hissed, "Ekaannsssss!"

Zach then returned his new Ekans to its Pokeball

"Now you'd probably want to find out what your pokemon can do," Aaron said. "Just place its pokeball in that scanner, and it'll tell you more about it." He pointed to a machine in one corner that had a slot for a pokeball and a screen on its front.

Zach nodded in agreement, and walked to the machine and placed his Pokeball in the scanner.
The screen lit up and showed...

Leer [Nrm]
Frightens the foe with a leer to lower DEFENSE.
Poison Sting [Psn]
A toxic attack with barbs, etc., that may poison.

"Now then," Aaron said after Zach read the information. "There's something else you need to do while you're here. Right this way, please." He lead the boy to the back of the lab, then through a door there. On the other side was a room with no ceiling whose floor was entirely made of grass, with rows of white flowers growing in it. After a moment's look it became clear that the flowers markes out the boundaries of a pokemon battlefield. "Your last task is a Gym battle...against me!" announced Aaron.

Aaron quickly tossed out his own pokeball. "You're up first, Nevermore," he said as a small, dark bird pokemon emerged from the ball.

"Start with a Growl," Aaron said.

His pokemon wasted no time in complying; it quickly opened its beak and released a fierce growl.

Ekans was slightly dazed from the loud growl.
" Ekans! Shake it off!" Zach said.
Upon that Ekans shook its head and brought its focus back to Nevermore.
" Alright now Ekans let's see if we can Poison this bird with a Poison Sting !" Zach ordered.
Ekans quickly complied and fired several poison darts from its mouth straight toward Nevermore.

Nevermore cried out when the attack hit it, but it quickly resumed its fighting stance. Its eyes were clear and it stood steady, so it appeared that it hadn't been poisoned.

"Go for a Tackle now," Aaron called.

His pokemon dashed forward to execute the attack.

Zach saw Nevermore charging towards Ekans with its tackle.
"hmm we're going to need a counter attack for this" zach thought to himself.
"Alright now Ekans Prepare to use another Poison Sting" Zach shout out.
Ekans acknowleged the command and prepared to fire the poison, however Nevermore's Tackle collided right into Ekans causing ekans to whiplash backwards
and fire several poison darts toward its trainer.
" Yikes!-" Zach leaped out of the way of the stray poison, soon though he realized there was a slight tear in his hat.
"Oh no, my hat! Ekans compose yourself and Use the poison on Nevermore!"
Ekans soon regained its composure and fired several more darts of Poison Sting at Nevermore

Pokémon Factory Worker

This time the poison attack flew straight at its target, and the darts struck Nevermore solidly. Nevermore tried to stand up straight after the attack, but its legs had become wobbly.

Aaron calmly noted that his pokemon was poisoned, and decided to go for a harder-hitting attack. "Nevermore, Peck this time," he commanded.

His pokemon dashed forward, stumbling slightly as it rushed beak-first at it opponent.

Zach, and clearly Ekans saw that their poision technique had worked, from the stumbling bird.
"Ekans, Dodge it!" Zach commanded.
Ekans agreed, and slithered away from the peck, but not fast enough and was scathed by the peck.
"Ekans! Quickly! WRAP your body around that bird!" Zach shouted.

As Nevermore saw Ekans slithering for it, it started to leap away. But its dulled reflexes weren't fast enough to get it away from the snake, and it was swiftly wrapped in a tight stranglehold. It managed to hold out for a moment before the combination of the poison and the constricting coils caused it to faint.

Aaron recalled his pokemon when he saw it go limp. "Well done," he said, then tossed out anothe pokeball as he said, "Now its your turn, Ledyba!" This time a large ladybug appeared in the air the battlefield, where it hovered as it waited for its first command.

"Stay where you are and Growl," he commanded, hoping that staying in the air would offer it enough mobility to dodge better.

After a chirp of acknowledgement, Ledyba released a loud growl at Ekans.

"ekkansss" ekans said in a tone that was obviously annoyance and pain.
"Ekans snap out of it! We're going to do the same thing! Use Poision Sting!" Zach commanded.
"Ekans!' Ekans shouted as it released several darts of poision from it's mouth towards the Ledyba.

The nimble bug zipped back and forth to dodge the worst of the attack, but several darts still struck its shell.

"Good job, now go for a Tackle," called Aaron.

Ledyba shot towards Ekans, aiming to dive-bomb the snake.
