Prolouge:
The young boy stared across the desk at his teacher. She sighed. "Angelo, I have no choice. Your parents left your brother as your guardian, and he
needs to now you failed." She looked at the boy and saw fear spread through every ounce of his being. "Please, anything but that! Please!"
Angelo wailed in a piercing voice. "I'm sorry," she said as she dialed a number on her PokeGear. Angelo closed his eyes, his breathing became
heavy, and his heart pounded. His brother was coming. Everyone in Viridian knew that meant trouble. He wept silently and gently as the teacher waited for the
elder DiGenove brother to arrive. Minutes passed, then there was a knock on the door. "Come in," the teacher answered. A young man, fully clothed in
a suit and tie came in, followed by a mean looking Persian. "What is the matter?" the man asked. "Well, ummm... Mr. DiGenove..." started
the teacher, who was clearly terrified. "Mr. DiGenove was my father," the man said, in a cold icy tone, which, somehow, was vaguely mocking.
"Call me, Gio." The teacher sat, visibly mortified by the man. Angelo too sat as if perpetually frozen in fear. "Yes..., well... I need to talk
about Angelo." the teacher stated. The man looked at his brother with such disdain that any color drained from the boy's already pale face. "What

That is very unfortunate for both of you, or it would seem." the man hissed, not once moving his gaze from Angelo. The teacher looked as if she was about
to cry. "Angelo did not fail. You will pass him, or else..." stated the man. "Angelo, we are leaving." The man stood up and walked out of
the room, follwed by a frantic Angelo. The teacher watched them walk away down the block, into the distance, realizing that she had condemned both Angelo and
herself to a utterly terrible fate.
The next day, Angelo didn't go to school, nor did he on the next. On the third day, however, he went to class with bruises all over his face and arms. The
teacher, on the other hand, was not there. The day after, Team Rocket overthrew the Viridian City government, the first of many to topple before the Kanto
region was passed in Rocket hands. Weeks later, a body was foound in the forest, seemingly beaten, tortured, and, finally, shot through the skull, abiding to
all details of a Rocket murder. Although he would never know for certain, Angelo secretly believed the body was his missing teacher, whom had still not shown
up. He was right. The Rockets' reign of terror over Kanto had begun...
