I was thinking about the dawn stone evolutions, and I realized that there actually are a lot of possibilities. Let's see what we can come up with for evolutions. As far as I can see, it always works with the pokemon of a specific gender. So I was thinking, maybe a female evolution of Goldeen with the dawn stone? Maybe it could become a Psychic-type and have a gem instead of a horn? I don't know, I want to hear your input.

Defiantly eeveelutions.
A male eevee could be fighting, and a female eevee could be a completely opposite type, like ghost or magic.

Hmmm... I'm not too sure about eeveelutions, I think it has enough already... another possibility would be maybe..... a male version evo of Surskit? Give me your input....

Why would Surskit need a male evolution? Masquerain doesn't scream female to me. Perhaps you were referring to Skitty? I am also going to put my input and say that the only Eeveelutions that I will support are Dragon, Wind, Magic, and Light. The reasoning is that all of Eevee's current evolutions are "Special" types. I put quotations because types are no longer divided into physical or special, but they were. Eevee has no "physical" evolutions and since it has so many already, doesn't need them either.

Well, the existing evolution doesn't have to "scream" one gender. There can still be male Gardevoirs (which is creepy) and Glalie actually looks more female than male to me. It can also be female. The reason I said Surskit is because it's a Pokémon it wouldn't be ridiculous to give a new evolution to that also has a lot of ideas that could be used for an evolution. And it just as easily have a female only + Dawn Stone evolution, I just chose male because I would like to see a less "delicate" evolution of Surskit that would counter Masquerain.

I'd like to point out another interesting fact about the Dawn Stone. Since there are only two pokémon that evolve with it, there's no way to be really sure, but so far the stone is also exclusive to pokémon that are part of a single-type evolutionary line, and then has the side effect of adding a secondary type to the alternate evolution. I don't know how other staff members would feel about it, but I'd keep that mechanic intact unless proven wrong by a future Generation. On the other hand, this makes the idea of evolving Goldeen even more plausible. I'd be interested to see how it would turn out.

I actually was going to mention that in my original post, but I didn't because of the only two Pokémon thing. I also hadn't noticed that it was only with single type lines... Another thing (and this is pushing it), it had some sort of dealing with the... ethereal, I guess, types. By this I mean Ghost, Psychic, and Dark (for PF, also Light) Frosslass gets Ghost-typing, and Gallade is a Psychic-type. All this said, Surskit would not be a viable option if you guys went for the only one type line thing. Referring back to Squireelay's earlier post, I can't actually see a male evvolution of Skitty... Maybe someone else can picture this? I agree that Goldeen is seeming like an even more viable choice...

All things in moderation. As long as we don't crazy with the dawn stone idea I think this is a good idea. I still don't believe Surskit is a good choice, but if you come out with a good idea my dislike will be sated. As for Skitty, I can see a more male evolution being thought up, but I don't have any ideas off the top of my head. And last but not least, Goldeen would have been a perfect pokemon for the Dawn Stone, it's too bad that it didn't happen, but that's why we're here right?

Exactly! I know suggestions are closed, so I probably shouldn't post ideas even in the Pokemon chat forum, right? But if I can, I would enjoy making a drawing of some of these... I know the staff does the final sprites, but I figure some art can't hurt, right?

The Goldeen evo sounds very interesting to me ^^ I tend to agree with Antarctros and keep the one-type thing intact.

Also, I wouldn't consider Skitty right now. In our archives (from before the May hack), we have two evolutions of Delcatty, and since I already know how they will turn out, I'm looking forward to the opportunity of getting both of them approved.

Mawile should get either a either a male or female evolution. I made a female one once, a long time ago, it was called Mawlady, and had two mouths on its head like pigtails and no mouth. I'm sure the name could use work, but I like Mawile too much to not give it an evolution.

Instead of the 'Seaqueen' thing (which is too obvious for my tastes) why not call it something like 'Aquamarina' (AQUAmarine (a type of blue-green semi-precious gem) + MARINA (usually a cove where boats dock before continuing on their journey)) or Tormaqueen (TOuRMAline (A type of exotic, semi-precious gem) + QUEEN)?

I don't find the Flaffy, Buizel, Marowak, Carvanha, Manectric, Feebas or Magikarp lines to be overtly either gender and Roselia already has a masculine evolution, Roserade.
