Right now, I'm fixing Pharos's moves since they suck right now - training it for discharge, gonna get a Toxic TM and teach it Signal Beam from the tutor. I need a move to replace Flame Wheel with on Flare, but cant' think of one. Oh well. As I said, my team is horribly unbalanced, with 4 weak to Electric, 3 to Ice, and 4 to Rock, but the Gym Leaders don't know that. Also Yanmega is one of my new favorite pokemon.ZF, you should give Frogini Ice Beam. That is, if you're going Politoed like I did... I don't care if it's bad, I love it!

Red has the highest level pokemon of any trainer in any game. This was the case in the original when it first came out and is the case again, which makes me happy for some reason. It's interesting to note that his Pikachu knows the same moves as the Ash's Pikachu in the anime and that Ash has owned at least one of the Pokemon in the same line as Red's Pokemon. Namely, Squirtle, Bulbasaur, Charizard, Snorlax, Lapras, and Pikachu. So it's safe to call Red the uber-Ash.

Ah well, anyways, do you really want the physical fire move on Flare all that much? If not, you could always just go with Flamethrower.JDLJDL wrote:@Zeldafan: Actually, I think the Pokémon Adventures manga got the team from GS, not the other way.His team was already set by G/S/C except for Espeon, but I guess that could just be a coincidence.

I think Flamethrower would be a waste of my hard earned coins seeing as it only has 5 more base power than Lava Plume, plus Flare will learn Eruption. True, Flamethrower is the better choice, but I already have a competitive Typlosion (it's shiny), and don't really care much for this one. I think I'm just gonna set it up with Focus Blast. Also, I had to replace Swift with Strength, which will have about the same power, since I wanted to give someone Waterfall since I hate going back to my PC, And I replaced Ribblast's Strength with it. Ampharos knows Discharge now. Unfortunately, Toxic and Signal Beam are a long ways off...I have Lugia now. It will rot in my box forever. The Kimono Girl dance summoning was pretty epic.Agh, I hate how high level Yanmega has to be for its two best moves - Air Slash and Bug Buzz...Also, on the subject of the manga - I think ZF is right. Red had most of those pokemon far before GSC was released - he has every one of them except for Eevee before the third gym, and get's Eevee two gyms later. So I think the GSC team was built around the Manga Red.
