Pokémon Factory Worker

Aaron blinked at the boy rolling on the floor, not trying too hard to conceal the disapproval on his face. Excitement was all well and good, but not when it made one act like they didn't even care about what they were here for. He took a deep breath and let it out slowly before saying evenly, "Please get up, it would not do for you to bump into something. And you can't really complete your lesson on the floor." He looked towards the tables on which rested the pokeballs that held starter pokemon, and added, "And it'd be hard to chose a pokemon from there, too. Do you know which one you'd like?"

"Oh, I'm very sorry. I'm just too... excited," Topaz stood up, dusted himself off, and blushed. "Yes, I made up my mind. I would like a Ninemone," he said, trying his best to conceal his excitement.

Aaron nodded, glad that the boy had calmed down now. "Alright then, chose any one of these pokeballs," he said, pointing to one group of the pokeballs on the nearest table. "Then let your pkoemon out so that you can meet it."

"Great! Okay..." Topaz peered through the half transparent shells of the pokeballs. "This one!" He picked it up and pressed the little botton. Poof! A flash of light and Ninemone popped out. "Hi, Ninemone!"

Aaron smiled at the pair. "Now then, if you return your Ninemone to its pokeball and place it on that scanner, it can tell you some useful information about your pokemon." He pointed to a machine in one corner of the lab, which had a slot for a pokeball and a screen on its front.

Pokémon Factory Worker

The machine hummed for a moment before the screen lit up, displaying some text:

NINEMONE
Lv. 5
Female
Wtr

Moves:
Pound [Nrm]
Pounds the foe with forelegs or tail.
Growl [Nrm]
Growls cutely to reduce the foe's ATTACK.

"Now then," said Aaron as he gestured for Topaz to follow him, "please come with me and we can have your last lesson." He led Topaz through a door at the back of the lab, which opened into a grass-floored room with an open room. White flowers grew in rows that marked out the lines for a pokemon battlefield. "Your last class...is your first Gym battle!" announced Aaron.

"Wow! A gym battle already?" Topaz jumped up in excitement. "Go Ninemone!" Ninemone appeared in a flash of light.

Pokémon Factory Worker

Aaron tossed his own pokeball onto the field. "Go. Nevermore!"

His pokemon, a small, dark bird, fluttered to the ground at it materialized.

"Nevermore, Growl at it!" Aaron instructed.

The bird fixed its opponent with a fierce look before giving it a loud growl.

Ninemone almost flinched, deliberately cutting its own attack. "Well, we're not going to lose! GROWL at it too!" Topaz pointed at the Nevermore as Ninemone growled.

Nevermore shrunk back from the intimidating sound.

"Stay strong, Nevermore," encouraged Aaron. "Give it a Tackle now."

His pokemon was hesitant to attack for a moment, but then obediently raced towards Ninemone.

"GAH!" Ninemone doubled up from the impact of TACKLE. However, it quickly recovered becasue of Nevermore's cut attack. "OK, tackle him back!!!" Topaz shouted at the top of his lungs.

Ninmone slammed into Nevermore, knocking the bird off-balance. It had to flap its wings furiously to avoid falling over.

"Nevermore, Peck it now," Aaron called.

His pokemon quickly jabbed its beak at its opponent.

Ninemone almost dodged the blow, the sharp beak landing on one of its tentacles. "Peck? Our tactic of copying the opponent won't work now. Go TACKLE it, Ninemone!!!" The anenome rushed forwards and launched itself in a full-body tackle.

Ninemone crashed solidly into Nevermore, sending the bird stumbling back.

"Keep at it, Nevermore. Tackle right back," directed Aaron.

As soon as his pokemon regained it's footing, it charged at Ninemone.
