Belladonna Hanyao was a typical thirteen-year-old girl, in most aspects at least. Most of her friends though her novelty Bellossom skirt was a tad
eccentric, and most said her Cherrim hairpins were borderline obsessive. Still she loved them all the same, and wore them on any occasion she got. Today for
example. She was currently walking at a brisk pace towards the Anchore Pokemon Research Lab to receive her first Pokemon. She went over all her choices in her
head. She had originally opted for Comolten, as it became an incredibly beautiful but powerful Pokemon, but she ditched that idea after her mother had given
her a reproachful glare. Her family's tradition was that children waited until 13 to receive a Pokemon (they said it let them mature first and made them
more capable of handling the trials of a Pokemon Adventure), and even then, if you were a first child, you took a Grass-Type, if you were a Second, you took a
Water-Type, and if you are a third, you have to take a Fire-Type. This meant that Bella had to decide between a Holiguana an a Youthistle, since a Random
Choice was out of the question (No one in her family took it. It was too unpredictable, and if you didn't get the right type, you were considered disloyal
to the family).
She switched the song that was playing on her iPod from 'Bring Me To Life' by Evanescence to a Classical track, which she found helped her concentrate
on pondering difficult problems. This one was the Firebird Suite, and she felt it resonated with her soul for some reason. She was so lost in thought, she
almost ran into the plexiglas door of the Lab. Opening it, she looked around. Finding no one, she walked around a bit, then called out "Professor Idaho?
Are you here?"
