Brandon woke up with a smile on his face, knowing that today was going to be special. He jumped out of bed and got dressed, ran down the stairs, and took the piece of bread the his mom was holding. "Thanks mom! I'm going to get my pokemon now! Bye!" And with that, he ran out the door, awaiting the journey that was before him.

Pokémon Factory Worker

((OOC: Are you waiting for Aaron? If you are you need to be at the Lab. If you are waiting for someone else to post, please from now on ask someone to. I will post, but after that you need to get to the lab.))

Marvin Bywater was out on a walk with his old Growlithe, Harold. It had been nearly seventy long years since the two went off on a journey together. Now, they were content with taking their daily morning walks, too tired to travel and battle. Mr. Bywater often reminisced about his younger years and when he saw young Brandon, a neighbor of his, more memories flooded back of the excitement he had about receiving his first pokemon from his father so many years ago.

He raised his hand and waved, shouting to the eager youth, "Good luck Brandon! Make Anchore Town proud!"

Brandon ran off in the distant too far to really hear his elderly neighbor, too excited to stop and say hello, the Anchore lab could be seen just a few blocks away...

Brandon was there at the Lab, just outside. His veins pulsed with adrenaline and he was ready. Awaiting the sliding doors to open, his adventure can finally begin.

Pokémon Factory Worker

As the lab doors slid open, Aaron looked open from the desk where he'd been writing something. Seeing a young boy silhouetted in the doorway, he smiled and stood up. "Come in, come in!" he said invitingly as he beckoned to the boy. "I expect you're here for your first pokemon, correct? Do you know which one you want, or would you like more information on what we have?"

The truth was, Brandon never really thought about what pokemon to pick, and was hoping he could decide here.

"Alright then," Aaron said with a nod. He walked over to a couple tables that had groups of pokeballs on them. He pointed to each group in turn, naming their contents. "We have a variety of pokemon for nre trainers to choose from. First we have our fire-types, Commolten and Xoskillitn. Next we have out water-types, Sukus and Ninemone. Then we have our Grass-types, Youthistle and Holliguana. And lastly," he said as he pointed to a group of pokeballs that were set slightly apart from the others; "we have these pkoeballs filled with random pokemon. We won't know what's in them unless you open one up. So," he concluded, trned back toward Brandon, "do you know which one you'd like?

Suggestions Board Manager

Brandon picked up one of the Random balls and released the pokémon inside to find out what it was. White light shot from the pokéball down to the floor, where it coalesced into a compact little insect pokémon. Brandon recognized it quickly, thanks mostly to the two mushrooms growing out of the bug's back. "Oh, a Paras!"

What luck! The first pokemon Brandon obtained was an orange one! "Cool! I've always wanted a Paras!" Brandon said with a little bit of disapointment. "Parasssss..." His Paras glared at him.
"Um... can Paras learn glare? I hope not."

Aaron laughed at the question. "I don't believe they do," he said. "But if you want to find out what your new pokemon does know, just return it to its pokeball, then place the ball in tha scanner." He pointed to a machine in the corner of the lab that had a slot for a pokeball as well as a screen on its front.

"Hehe, okay." Brandon walked over to his Paras and put him in his pokeball, which seemed to please him. Brandon then walked over to the machine and put the pokeball in the scanner. "So, what will this tell me? And when will i get my pokedex?!?!"

Pokémon Factory Worker

(OOC: I haven't got Platinum either, though I just ordered it. And bumping actually is counter-productive with me, since I reply to the threads that haven't had a reply in the longest time first.)

The machine hummed as it scanned the pokeball, then the screen lit up with information about it:

PARAS
Lv. 5
Female
Grs

Moves:
Scratch [Nrm]
Scratches the foe with sharp claws.

Since Brandon's first question had already been answered, Aaron only answered the second one. "You'll get your pokedex in a little while. There's something else we need to take care of first. Please follow me and I'll show you." He led Brandon through a door at the back of the lab and into an open-roofed room. The floor was a carpet of living grass, with rows of white flowers growing in it to mark the lines for a pokemon battlefield. "Your last task here...is your first Gym battle!" announced Aaron.

Pokémon Factory Worker

(OOC: In battles against trainers or pokemon that are controlled by other players, including staff, each person will take turns attacking. One person will make a post commanding their pokemon to attack, then the next person will post saying whether the attack hit and its effects, then attacking back. Then that repeats, until one person decides their pokemon has fainted, at which point they may switch to another pokemon (if they have one and if allowed) and the battle can continue. In battles against random wild pokemon, you write the entire battle, including your actions, your pokemon's actions, and the actions of the wild pokemon.)

"Alright, you're up Nevermore!" yelled Aaron as he tossed his pokeball onto the field. It burst open in a flash of light, which formed into a small dark-colored bird with a long beak. "More Nevermore!" It squwaked as it settled onto the grass.

"Nevermore, start with a Growl," commanded Aaron. His pokemon looked sharply at its opponent before releasing an intimidating growl.
