"Bye" Hayley called over her shoulder to her family. Her family consisted of Chad, (her brother) Tina, (Chad's gifriend) and Ty, (Hayleys Pet Marowak.)
Hayley darted to the lab, taking shotcuts where ever possible. Jumping fences, climbing trees, you know, thatt sot of thing. Hayley was a very agile and ninja like person.

When she reached the lab, she ran smack into a guy in a lab coat.
"Ooff!" She cried and landed on her face, "Sorry Proffesor, I didn't see you!"
She assumed the guy to be the Proffesor.

Pokémon Factory Worker

Aaron stumbled and almost fell over himself before he managed to regain his balance. He'd certainly met some energetic and excited children lately, but this was a first. "It's quite alright, no harm done," he said as he straightened his coat. "I'm actually not Professor Idaho; he's away at the moment. I'm his aide Aaron, and I can help you with anything you need. Would you like a hand?" He bent down and offered a hand to Hayley to help her get up.

Pokémon Factory Worker

After helping Hayley up, he led her over to some tables in the lab that had some groups of pokeballs on them. "Here are where we have the pokemon for starting trainers. Do you know which one you want, or would like like more information on them?"

Hayley looked over the balls carefully.
" I think I want a randam one" she decided.
She grabbed a random one that was situated on the top.
"Go!" she called and released the Pokemon.
The light swirled around into the shape of a Pokemon...

...a pokémon Hayley knew quite well. Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh...each of these regions had their own unique species of pokémon, but the sturdy fellow who now appeared on the floor of Anchore Lab was a fairly common sight in every single region.

"Geodude!" Hayley and her new pokémon said at almost the same time.

Hayley bent down and patted her new Geodude. She had seen Geodude around before. The only thing she didn't like about them was that she would have to trade it to evolve it.
"I think I'll call you Dude" Hayley told it.
"Geodude! Geo!" replied Dude.
Hayley turned to Aaron "Now what?"

((OOC: Well thought. Actually no, to get Quarrex you simply have to get Graveler to level 39 or more and then level it up while holding a King's Rock. Hazzamon, since your character comes from outside of Bombur, if you would like to follow this path of evolution in the future I suggest you could make Hayley discover this evolution at some point during her journey.))

"Now you can find out more about what your Geodude is capale of, if you like," Aaron told her. "Just return it to its pokeball and place the ball in that machine." He pointed to a machine in one corner that had a screen and a slot for a pokeball.

"Come back Dude!" Hayley called to Dude.
After he was saftly back in the Pokeball, she placed it on the machine.

Pokémon Factory Worker

The machine took a moment to scan the pokemon, then displayed some information on its screen:

GEODUDE
Male
Rck/Gnd

Moves:
Tackle [Nrm]
Charges into the opponent.
Defense Curl [Nrm]
Curls up to conceal weak spots and raise DEFENSE.
Mud Sport [Gnd]
Covers the user in mud to raise electrical resistance.

"Now then, we have someting else to do before you set out. Right this way please," said Aaron, and led her through a door at the back of the lab. The next room was a pokemon battlefield, with a grassy floor and an open ceiling. "Before you leave, you must face me in your first Gym battle!"

Dude leapt out of the Pokeball and hovered (Do Geodudes levatate? I think they do) on the battlefeild

Aaron tossed out his own opeball, calling, "Let's go. Nevermore!" His Nevermore, a small, dark bird pokemon, appeared and hovered above the field.

"Start with a Growl," commanded Aaron.

His pokemon squawed once before releasing a loud growl at its opponent.

Dude shrunk back a bit.
"Don't worry bout it Dude" called Hayley, "Use Tackle attack!"
Dude leapt forward and hit Nevermore with a hard Tackle.

Pokémon Factory Worker

(OOC: Just so you know, you don't say whether your attack hits your opponent when you're battling against a trainer or pokemon that's controlled by another person. So while you con't say "Dude leapt forward and hit Nevermore with a hard Tackle," you could say "Dude threw itself at Nevermore hard," or something similar.)

Nevermore was tossed back by the impact and skidded along the ground.

"Nevermore, Peck it," Aaron called.

Nevermore quickly dashed towards Dude, ready to jab out with its beak.

Nevermore watches as Dude splashed mud onto himself, which didn't effect the bird pokemon at all.

"You might want to pay more attention to the effects of your pokemon's attacks," commented Aaron. "Nevermore, jump back and Growl," he called.

Nevermore took a couple hops back before growling loudly at Dude.
