Back at Anchore lab, Aaron had been doing some work when the phone rang. He answered it, noting that the caller ID said the call came from a pokedex. "Hello?" he said into the recieved. The response was not what he'd expected; a very quiet "Help" followed by the sounds of a battle. His eyes widened and he hastily punched a button on the phone, which traced the call. It immediately identified the caller as Romulus, and in a moment it had the boy's location, which Aaron sent to his own pokedex. Aaron quickly exchanged the pokemon he used for Gym battles with the ones he customarily carried with him, then dashed out of the lab. In moments he was in the air on the back of his Obdraycere and flying towards Romulus, using his pokedex to home in on the origin of the call.

Not long after, a broad shadow was cast over the battle. Anyone looking up could see a pale, whale-like dragon pokemon. Aaron was quickly ferried to the ground by his Skarmory and dropped to the ground a short distance from the three trainers. One look around the field was enough for him to get a reasonable assumption of the situation.

"Cain, was it?" Aaron said, addressing the cloaked figure. "I'd hazard a guess that you're harassing trainers again. Not to mention you're still a wanted criminal. I'll offer you the chance once again: will you come quietly?"

Aaron quickly returned his Obdraycere, knowing that the curse would lose its hold once his pokemon was inside its pokeball. And anyway, it was too large a pokemon to be able to fight effectively in the forest. He held off on sending another pokemon out, deciding to save them for now and see how things played out. To Cain he said, "I had a feeling you'd say something like that, but I figured I'd ask anyway. I'll have to take you in the hard way, then. Skarmory, use Air Cutter on Alakazam."

At its trainer's command, Skarmory brisky flapped its wings and sent sharp blasts of wind at the Psychic pokemon.
