A bus stopped in Anchore. This bus held many prospective trainers for the Pokemon Factory League. One of them was Tim. He excitedly hopped off the bus and ran quickly to the lab, opening the door. "Professor! I'm here for my first Pokemon!" he shouted. He was so excited he nearly slipped on the laboratory floor as he ran in.

(OOC: Tuloh? The city that trainers start in is Anchore.)

Aaron looked at the excited new trainer who'd stumbled into the lab. "Woah, careful there," he said. "Professor Idaho is away for a while. My name is Aaron, I'm his aide and will be taking care of things until he returns." He walked over to a table holding several groups of pokeballs. "I expect you're here for your first pokemon. Do you know which one you'd want?"

(Oops, I was working on my Pokemon Tuloh site at the same time. Call me braindead XDD I edited it.)

Tim thought for a moment. "Well, what are my choices?" he asked. "Where I come from it's just Treecko, Torchic, and Mudkip," he told Aaron, shrugging. "I'm new here in Bombur. I moved all the way from Fortree City in Hoenn."

Aaron nodded. "Welcome to Bombur, then. And we have several choices for starting pokemon." He pointed to the groups of pokeballs in turn as he named their contents. "For Fire-types we have Comolten and Xoskillitn. Our Water-types are Sukus and Ninemone. The Grass-types are Youthistle and Holliguana. And these," he said as he pointed to the last group, which was set a little bit away from the others, "contain random pokemon. They could be almost anything, and we won't know what's in them until they're opened up. So," he concluded as he turned back to Tim, "which one interests you?"

Tim went through the choices again. Then he smiled. "I choose Holliguana," he told Aaron. "As my first Pokemon to start my journey with." He made a smirk, realizing that a random Pokemon wouldn't have been a bad choice either, but he could end up with a terrible starter.

Aaron nodded. "Very well, then. Feel free to pick one of them, then let it out so you can meet your new pokemon." He stepped aside and pointed to the cluster of pokeballs that contained the Holliguanas.

Tim walked over to the box of Pokeballs and grabbed one. "I choose you, Holliguana!" he shouted, just as he would have done in Hoenn, tossing the Poke Ball into the air and watching as white light shot out of the ball, forming a vaguely reptilian shape.

Aaron smiled as he watched Tim release his new pokemon. "If you'd like to learn more about it, you can use that machine in the corner." The machine he pointed to had a screen and a slot to hold a pokeball. "Just return your Holliguana to its pokeball and place the ball in the slot."

(Miravistel, I made an error! I typed "Marco", which is my main character when I RP in places other than PFL! This guy's name is Tim! xDDD I'm seriously so braindead. *pounds head on desk*)

Tim smiled and returned the reptilian Pokemon, placing it in the small machine in the corner of the lab.

The machine hummned quietly as it scanned the pokeball. A moment later its screen lit up with some information:

HOLLIGUANA
Lv. 5
Male
Grs/Psn

Moves:
Scratch [Nrm]
Scratches the foe with sharp claws.
Growl [Nrm]
Growls cutely to lower the foe's ATTACK.

"Now then," said Aaron, "there's one more thing we must attend to before you go. If you would just follow me please..." He led Tim through a door at the back of the room, which brought them to another room which had no ceiling, leaving it open to the sky above. The floor was covered with grass, and rows of white flowers marked out the boundaries of a pokemon battlefield. "It's time for your first Gym battle!" announced Aaron. "Are you ready?"

Tim took the Pokeball from the machine after he read the attacks, then walked into the back room with Aaron. "Wait a minute, you're a Gym leader AND a Pokemon Professor?" he asked. "That's weird. But anyway, we'll see how well my new Pokemon fights! Go, Holliguana!" he shouted, as white light shot out of the ball, showing the boundary of the reptilian Pokemon, before it appeared. "Guana!" it exclaimed, looking pumped and ready for battle.

"Actually, I'm not even a Professor yet," said Aaron. "I'm just studying to be one; Prof. Idaho is this lab's professor. Anyway, go Nevermore!" He tossed his pokeball out, which released a small, dark-colored bird.

"Nevermore, give it a Growl," said Aaron.

His pokemon sized up its opponent before releasing a fierce growl.

Holliguana shrank back from the harsh sound. "Scratch it, Holliguana!" Tim shouted. Holliguana snapped out of it, and rushed at the bird, claws extended, and scratched at it.

The claws scraped across Nevermore's feathers, making the bird cry out.

"Nevermore, Peck it, then jump back" Aaron commanded.

His pokemon obediently jabbed at its opponent, ready to hop back right after.
