Ohohohohoho!! I have a name for it, if it's tropical! The Malana Region, with an archipelago of islands of to the south, which can be called the Chromatic Islands:

Ruby Is. - The southernmost island in the chain, it is largely volcanic and has large deposits of metal in the ground. As such, many Fire- and Steel- type Pokemon reside here

Citrine Is. - Because of its proximity to both Ruby Island and Topaz Island, it catches plenty of trade winds. As such, many varieties of Flying- and Wind-Type Pokemon flock here (pun not intended)

Topaz Is. - Becuse it is somewhat close to the warm waters of Ruby Island, but also close to the cool water of the mainland, it is the place of many catacclysimc storms. Electric- and Wind-Type Pokemon make their homes here.

Emerald Is. - The largest island in the chain, it is covered in dense forests and has a large swamp at the center. Grass- and Poison-Type Pokemon enojoy this Island most.

LapisLazuli Is. - It is caovered in mountains and hills. The higher peaks are the location of many interesting cave formations, while on ground level, there are some ancient ruins, though they don't have the mystic powers imbued in them that the ruins on Amethyst Island does. Many Dragon- and Rock-Type Pokemon make this island a nest.

Amethyst Is. - Home to mystic ruins from an ancient civilization. Psychic- and Fighting-Type Pokemon come here to train their spiritual and mental endurance. The Western tip of the island is deserted, due to its proximity to Coltan Island.

Coltan Is. - A dark island inhabited only by the hardiest of Dark- and Ghost-Type Pokemon. A feeling of negativity pervades the very air, and an uneasy feeling of misfortune infects the psyche of all who visit.

I'm not Omega, but I don't see an island for the Water, Ice, Ground, & Bug types. I suggest placing Bug on Emerald, Ground on Lapis, and Water & Ice could be a totally new island. Like Sapphire.
Also, why is the LapisLazuli Island full of caves and mountains? The Lapis Lazuli is Blue.
I'm going to try to map the islands of the archepelago. Wish me [good] luck.

In answer to your grievances:

1. I know, I forgot Bug-Types. Sorry.
2. See th above for Ground-Types.
3. Water-Type Pokemon can live in the water surrounding the islands (I feel like saying 'DUH' right about now)
4. If it's a tropic area, Ice-Types are gonna steer clear from it.

In answer to Omega, I guess it can be shortened to Lapis Is.

Dex: It commands respect from other POKEMON of lower status. It does, however, remain loyal to its trainer.

Appearance: Okay, kinda like a bigger, badder Demonight, but it has a Crocodilian head and a sort of crown-ish looking gathering of horn at the crest of its head. It also has bigger, clawed hands. It has pitch black skin with red lines going every which way all across its body.

And my Legendary (PLEASE OMEGA!! I really love this guy, and I think you'd love him too! Can't you just reserve a spot?)

Chernadow (CHERNobog (Slavic god of evil) + shADOW)

Dark/ Magic
Dex: It raises lost souls and bends them to its will. It hates and fears CHIMECHO.
