Yeah. and maybe Culthulhu will show up again. He's almost as prolific as the other posters when it comes to new pokemon.

Though now I'm curious too, did he work for Nintendo? I rather doubt that Nintendo would use ideas from just one fan when Satoshi Tajiri is said to have created sketches from over 1,000 pokémon. And if they did take ideas from fans, they would be better off taking them from the PF Community ;P

I remember right before the 2nd generation of pokemon came out, there was a contest for fans of pokemon to send in their best drawings of made up pokemon. I'm curious about if they use those for the 3rd and 4th though.

Good point. The 4th generation especially looked rather fan-based in terms of the pokémon Nintendo gave us.

They did one before Emreld came out. If u won, the drawing was sent to Nintendo and you won a copy of Pokemon Emereld and a green Sp. I entered it. I didn't win.

Interesting. So, all of our fakemon may have potential to be real Pokemon someday?

Doubtful. Although I would not be suprised if some ideas very similar to ours went into the games. Just look at the PF pokemon formerly known as Torterra

I tame the burninators.

Here's how the Slakoth line really goes through evolution:

Slakoth drinks a Red Bull, causing it to get hyper and evolve into Vigoroth.
The caffeine rush ends, causing Vigoroth to evolve into Slaking.

Yep. Maybe the pokemon corp. got the name idea from us. But, now we have a crappier name, turtatlas, or something like that.

It's called Terratlas, actually. I don't consider that a crappy name myself. Regardless, it's quite obvious we just cannot have two pokémon with the same name, so we had to change it.

In this case, I doubt they took the name from us. If you look at Torterra, it just screams to be named Torterra in each and every pixel.

However, Terratlas's new name is a combo of terra and atlas. There is no reference that is any sort of turtle.

True. And while that might dissapoint in some way, focusing on its map/atlas characteristics only also means that it can't be seen as a rip-off of a Nintendo pokémon.
