"Nidorino, counter with poison sting!" The poison barbs and the thorns collided in mid-air, causing mini explosions. "Now, charge at it with peck!" Nidorino's horn started to glow and grow. It then stampeded towards Branthorn.

"Branthorn, Nidorino is close! Use Sharpthorns as it approaches!" Calleo instructed. As Nidorino was executing its attack, and as its hind legs came dangerously close to Branthorn, Calleo's pokémon pumped up its head and again shot an array of razor-sharp thorns out of it.

"Take the hit, and continue the attack!" Nidorino took the shrapthrons and landed the double kick. Both Nidorino and Branthorn seemed to be out of breath.

The fight was intense and both Nidorino as Branthorn paused for a moment to catch their breath. Nidorino seemed to be bothered by its burn, which seemed to get more intense after each turn. Calleo realized his best option was to try and make sure Branthorn wouldn't get hurt too much while the burn was continuously damaging the opponent.
"Branthorn, launch Razor Leaf!" Calleo's pokémon jumped back into action, and started to swing its leafy arms. It launched a couple of volleys of sharp-edged leaves at Nidorino.

Andy had to think quick. "Use peck now!" As nidorino's horn glowed, it was set ablaze thanks to the flame on the tip. "GO!!" Nidorino then charged at it. His whole body became encased in fire as his horn glowed a deep red.

Nidorino blazed through the incoming leaves, only receiving some scratches in the process. Nidorino struck Branthorn with the Peck, damaging Calleo's pokémon, but obviously not burning it. After it had executed its attack, Nidorino once again received more damage from its burn.
Branthorn had received a lot of damage, but it indicated to Calleo that is could still keep going. "All right then, use Sharpthorns while Nidorino is still near. Branthorn pumped up and unleashed its thorns again. They were shot at Nidorino, which no longer was ablaze after it had executed its attack.

Nidorino was bombarded by the thorns, then collapsed. "Return. You did a great job." Andy returned nidorino to his pokeball. "Go scyther!!" Andy threw out a pokeball and scyther popped onto the field. "Knock it out with a Vacuum Wave!"
