((OOC: For Miravistel, I will pull the necessary info out of the first post, so she can reply. Soble92, no posting before you receive a reply please.))

He came from Sinnoh to Bombur with a dream, to become a master of battle. His father, a professor, made his family move with him so he can study the "ShinE Ruins".
Andy did not know it yet, but the pokemon he will capture will help him save the world.

The next morning, he instantly goes into the lab, skipping breakfast, waiting to figure out what comes before him.
He enters the lab, noticing that Professor Idaho wasn't there, instead, it was someone else.

Aaron was straightening up some of the pokeballs on a table when Andy entered the lab. He looked up at the boy and waved cheerily. "Good morning. If you haven't heard, Professor Idaho is away from the lab for a while. I'm his aide, Aaron, and I'll be taking care of things here until he returns. I expect you're here for your first pokemon, right?" He stepped aside from the table so Andy could reach the pokeballs on it. "All our starting pokemon are right here. We have several to choose from; do you know which you might like?"

"Oh cool! A lotad!" said Andy with excitement. Andy went over to hug his brand new pokemon, but he back away quickly. Andy got kind of upset.
"Why did it move away from me?" asked the trainer.

(OOC: Can you have lotad's ability to be rain dish? He and his evolutions are the only ones that have it, and it would be cool if you did.)

(OOC: We haven't really specified abilities in the RPs. I expect you could probably say your Lotad's ability is Rain Dish, unless we start choosing them for the starters.)

"Hmm, it's probably just not used to you, and you did move towards it rather quickly. You may have just surprised it. Try getting down to it's level and talking to it a little before you try to touch it again," advised Aaron.

"Ok. I am new at this though." Andy went onto it's knees and called lotad over. He apologized about being ecstatic too quickly and patted lotad's head. "Lolololotad." Lotad was rather happy now.

Andy returned lotad to his pokeball and gave it to Aaron.

"It's good to see you two are getting along so much better already," Aaron said as he accepted the pokeball. Then he replaced the pokeball on the scanner. A moment later the screen on the machine lit up, displaying some information about the little pokemon:

Wtr/Grs

Moves:
Astonish [Gst]
An attack that may shock the foe into flinching.
Growl [Nrm]
Growls cutely to lower the foe's ATTACK.
Absorb [Grs]
An attack that absorbs half the damage inflicted.

"Now that that's taken care of, are you ready for your last class?" Aaron asked, gesturing to a room off to the back.

(OOC: It was assumed that all new trainers were taking classes at Prof. Idaho's lab, and today is the last class. If that's not mentioned somewher, maybe I should stop saying that.)

Aaron chukled as he handed Lotad's poebacll back to Andy. "Nope not all at. Just come this wayand I'll explain it."

He led the boy into a room in the back that had an open ceiling anf a floor of grass. Rows of white flowers in the grass marked the outlines of a pokemon arena. "Your last class...is your first gym battle! You ready?"

Aaron tossed his first pokeball onto the field, which opened up to reveal a dark-colored bird pokemon. "Growl, Nevermore," Aaron commanded. His pokemon immediately opened it's beak to Growl loudly at Lotad.

"Don't be so sure of that," Aaron said. "Nevermore's still got plenty of fight in it, and it's resistant to Grass-type moves lie Absorb. Nevermore, use Tackle!" Nevermore shook its head to help itself focus again after the effects of Astonish, then dashed forward to ram into Lotad.

The unexpected weight on Nevermore's back surprised it, then the sudden screech from so close made it jump in the air from shock. It tried to cover its head with its wings in an attempt to block the sound.
