I got another poll that is "legendary."

My favorite Legendary PKMN are Mew and shaymin, but the beasts are definatly top trio.

Definitely the golems for me. I love their inorganic appearance, and those dots for eyes... also, the way they sounded in the Lucario movie was amazing.

I'll vote for the awesome birds, for old times' sake. I love the birds, beast and golems all equal though. Nintendo did an awesome job on the first three trios. They're all great ^-^
If only the lake fairies would've been different types; would've made them much cooler.

BTW, Antarctros, I've never seen that movie. How did they sound?

Well, I don't remember quite well, actually, but I did like them when I heard them. They had this robotic feel to them, and their "eyes" turned on and off producing all sorts of blips.

They are all my favorite. The most important however, are Dialga, Palkia, and Giratina. At least in my opinion.

I like Groudon, Kyogre and Rayquaza, the way they represented the three things htat make up the world was really good. Also, the way they had really similar markings was cool.

Incidentally, why weren't Mew, Celebi and Jirachi there? Don't they represent past, present and future?

Weather Trio because of their strog, linear designes and their basis on the ziz, behemoth and leviathan of Hebrew legend, this makes them close to my heart due to my interest in mythology.

Dialga, Palkia, and Giratina. I lost interest in Pokemon for awhile (because my super special awesome Sapphire version was stolen

), but when I found out that the Mascots for DP were time and space dragons, I was a Pokemon fan once again (yes, I am a science nerd)

I tame the burninators.

Here's how the Slakoth line really goes through evolution:

Slakoth drinks a Red Bull, causing it to get hyper and evolve into Vigoroth.
The caffeine rush ends, causing Vigoroth to evolve into Slaking.

Technically they're a quadro, with Manaphy, called the Princes or the Fairies, of Life, Nature, Stars and Sea in chronological order.

Can I say this again? The only pokemon that are not in duos or trios are

celebi
jirachi
deoxys
heatren
possibly arceus (he might also be a trio leader for lake or dragons)
shaymin
manaphy
phione (is he even legendary?)
mew
mewtwo

Oh, Soble, i didn't know you worked for Nintendo. please, continue to enlighten us with facts about pokemon :P

This is all opinion, there's no right or wrong answer. The only clear cut trios are the beasts, the birds, and the weather trio. The rest aren't really that clear.

I agree with you about the golems, but Bonzai's probably thinking about Regigigas when he claims they're not an official trio. After all, there are four of them now.

Yes, there are 4 golems. BUT, Regigigas is the golem trio leader. Thats why in D/P, you need all 3 regis to unlock the temple that allows you to fight Regigigas.

I'm sorry but I JUST LIKE TO BE FACTUAL.

To be honest, I take it all back; I thought a little and the ones mentioned in the poll are clear trios.
Legendary Birds: uno, dos, tres
Legendary Beasts: all three seen together in-game
Legendary Golems: all linked by name
Weather Trio: feature in each others' legends
Lake Trio: all seen together in-game

The only trio I'm not sure of is the Dragon Trio. Does Giratina have any real menton in the game? Other than it being Dragon-type, it seems that Dialga and Palkia make a better duo.

I think Giratina is speculated to be part of the trio due to its typing, the way its move list is organized (the same as Dialga and Palkia) and because it, too, has gems (the girasol opal) on it and being named after it. And I suspect it will feature on the third game, like Rayquaza did.

However, I too am curious as to what is their in-game link. Do time, space and dimensions make up a trio?

I wasn't too sure about giratina myself, but I looked at bulbapedia, and it said that they are a trio, and he would be known as a group leader in movie 11, or at least I think so.
