3 and a half) OK, this is the realm of speculation about the inner workings of the pokémon world. Pokémon Chat is a better place to ask these sort of questions. In any case, I'll tell you how it works in our RPG: you put the TM/HM disk in a slot in your pokédex, point at the pokémon, and press a "transmit" button. Credit goes to Miravistel for this method.

Mew is an ancestor of pokémon in the sense of Darwinian, or "real" evolution. The common evolution in pokémon is more akin to a metamorphosis. However, all this might be now obsolete, as it now has been put in question by the addition of Arceus...
