...There is a snow-capped mountain. Near the peak, snow and ice begin to melt, energised by the warm winds from the desert. They pool, and run, joining into other streams and brooks, until there is a river, frothing and bursting its banks with speed and energy, as it careers around mountains and vallies.
However, at the end of one valley, a crack has opened. The water flows into the crack, and into the vast subterranean caverns within. As the water passes caves full of crystal formations, it widens and calms. In a particularly large cave, which glows blue from fungi and crystal, there is movement.
Several Gravellers, darker than usual, are punching one of the cave walls, breaking chunks of rock from it. Teams of oddly-coloured Sandslash and Dugtrio ferry the chunks of rock away from them, and in some places pile it up. There is a yellow flash every once in a while, when a purple, glowing Magmar melts the rocks, turning them into pillars, to support a tunnel. From this lihght, with the crystal, we can see that the Rock and Ground types are also all purple, with silver highlights.
On the river's wide beach, an Onix is struggling, bound by vines extended from three purple Venusaurs. A figure, pitch-black even in this lit cave except for burning red eyes, laughs quietly.
"It's no good struggling, young one. You are bound to my will."
The Onix thrashes harder, and roars, shaking pebbles loose from the ceiling of the cave, high above in the dark.
"I won't let you take me!" it shouts. The onix is shaking with fear, not just because it is bound; something about this dark pokémon chills it to the core.
"I'm afraid you have no choice in the matter. Bring him closer."
The Venusaurs obey, stomping solidly, the Onix held firm.
"No, you have no choice, and neither does anyone else. I am more powerful than you will ever know; I will NOT be sent back!"
Onix paused for a second in its wild struggling, and then continued, harder than ever. That voice had the edge of madness to it.
"You are mine now." the dark creature said, simply.
Suddenly, dark tendrils of smoke extended from it, and wrapped the Onix completely. It roared again, louder, and was quiet.
The smoke slowly released the Onix, which fell to the floor. It stirred, and rose.
Now, what had been rough, grey rock had been smoothed, and dyed a deep purple. Its eyes glowed with a more subdued version of the dark pokémon's red. It said a single word, in a deep rumble.
"Revenge..."
"That's right." said the dark creature. "Revenge. Now dig!"
The Onix launched forward to where the Graveller were digging, and started to rotate its body segments like a drill. It ate through the rock with ease, burrowing forward. The other pokémon followed.
"Revenge... soon." said Exodus.
