"So, Caesar. What do you know of these Shadow Pokmon?"
Caesar shrugged to Combee's question.
"Not much, they usually can't use proper attacks, but that last group had turned recently and hadn't lost their attacks. The rest that we face will probably be fully sucumbed and will use attacks of a totally unnatural element called Shadow. Zorro had two Shadow lackeys, Poliwhirls, that could summon Shadow Storms. I imagine they had other attacks but I dispatched them fairly quickly so they had no tiime to use them."
Caesar thought back to his battle with Zorro. The Gallade had laughed as the two Poliwhirls attacked. Caesar had been struch heavily but his Dragonbreath had knocked them back easily. He had been so enthralled with their power yet repulsed by their evil souls. Then Gallade had cackled maniacally.
"You fool. This Lake will fall to him. The whole world will fall to him. So I will help him and be his most trusted soldier. And perhaps he will be grateful and grant me Sinnoh. Or perhaps he will make me like the pitiful Poliwhirl you see before you. Either way, I want power and I will get it."
Zorro had tried to take Caesar out with an X-scissor. Caesar had taken Zorro out with a Brine. Zorro fled and, Caesar could only hope, had never returned.
"I see it!"
Caesar looked up. Off in the distance he could se exactly what Slowbro was talking about. A black cloud. The Cargan Desert. Where day was full of blistering heat and night with all sorts of Ghost Pokmon like Dusclops and Poetorch. And then there was a dilemma. Caesar had intended to get into the cloud. But neither Slowbro nor him could fly and Combee could not go up alone. They needed help from someone else. Caesar knew only one person outside of Manifold who could help them. Caesar's grandfather on his mother's side had visited him in Manifold once. It was quite remarkable how the wise old Salamence had known they were related but there was no doubt about it. And Salamence would definitely be able to get both him and Slowbro into the cloud. Salamence lived in Mt. Torkenhow so they would need to cross the Desert, swim across the sea and scale the mountain to reach him. Salamence's cave was well hidden but he had told Caesar that if he ever visited, then he would have to stand at the summit and release a Dragonbreath at the large rock lying there. Caesar had no idea what this would do but he couldn't wait to see his old grandfather again. He was an amazing creature. Old as he was, he was still a fierce battler and a powerful force to be reckoned with. He was a real Methusalah though, many reckon he was the first Bagon to hatch from an Egg in Bombur. And he had told Caesar that his grandmother, a Milotic called Minerva would be there too. He hoped that she would be able to tell him about his father, as at the time Severus had met Cassandra and subsequently disappeared, Salamence had been in Hoenn, helping some realtives fight off a rogue Whiscash who had been trying to collapse Meteor Falls. Minerva was not as old as Salamence and a native of Hoenn. She had once been the ugliest Feebas, but Salamence had met her as a Shellgon and they had fallen in love. Shellgon had heard of the power fo PokBlocks and stole many and gave them to Minerva. And yet she had not evolved until a battle with a large group of Carvanha that had begun to ravage her aquatic home. She had become the most beautiful Milotic ion Hoenn and a ruthless opponent. She scattered the Carvanha and left Hoenn to live in Bombur with Shellgon. They had a beautiful Milotic girl called Cassandra who many years later met an Empoleon called Severus. They too had single child together before Severus disappeared to fight a powerful force of evil. Milotic had fled to Sinnoh and entrusted Caesar's egg to a group of Golduck. She had returned to Bombur and most likely perished. The Golduck had hatched and raised Caesar and trained him in the ways of mind and body. As the years went by, each of the Golduck had passed away in turn. And Caesar had been alone. Then he repelled Zorro and later, Glarinus. He had been carried to Bombur and recuperated from his ordeal under the care of Combee, Slowbro and Crawdaunt. The four had become close friends and lazed around in the Bombur sun until that attack by the Shadow Pokmon. Now they were travelling across the continent to rescue their friend and through hail, rain or snow, or in this case sand, they would not be stopped. Crawdaunt had to be rescued.
