She grew a bit bolder and stepped further into the lab until she reached a table with three pokeballs and a box. Upon inspection the box appeared to contain more pokeballs.

Pokémon Factory Worker

As the young woman found the pokeballs, Aaron approached her. He had heard her earlier question, but had been busy with something that had delayed him for a moment. "Good morning," Aaron said with a smile. "The professor is not in today, but as his aide, I am filling in for him. You're here for your first pokemon, right?"

She cleared her throat. "My name is Sally Cedar, and I recieved a call from the Professor. He requested that I take part in a study of new pokemon in the area." She looked at the box. "I assume these are the test subjects?" She grinned and adjusted her glasses.

Aaron chuckled. "You could say that." He gestured at the pokeballs lines up on the table. "These are some newly discovered pokemon, and we're allowing new trainers to take them as their starter pokemon. I believe you have been informed what they are, correct?" Then he pointed to the box. These, on teh other hand, contain random pokemon. They could be enythign from a common Ratatta to a Dratini, or something rarer." He looked back at Sally. "Do you know which you'd like to chose?"

Sally closed her eyes, stuck out a pointed finger, and randomly tapped a pokeball on the table. "I'll be glad to take whatever pokemon is contained in this pokeball." She really didn't mind which pokemon it was, just as long as it didn't eat her upon release. She let out a sigh of hopeful relief and opened her eyes.

Aaron smiled and handed her the indicated pokeball. "This one's yours, then. Go ahead and meet your new pokemon. If you'd like to know more information about it and its abilities, you can recall it to its pokeball and place it on that machine." He indicated a machine on one side of the lab that had a slot for a pokeball.

Sally felt the weight of the ball pressed into her hand. She tossed it a bit with her hand, then pressed the white button on its front. She smiled when the pokemon emerged from inside.

((Thank you Poryhedron.. It was just.. two months? :/))

A weird, pointy-eyeball-looking pokemon sat in front of Sally. It looked like nothing she'd ever seen before, that was for sure. Nevertheless, she put on a grin and kneeled in front of it. "I think I'll call you.. Dokutoku. Or just Doku for short." The.. thing made a weird gurgle as if to confirm what she had said. Then she recalled it to its pokeball. "How did you say I could find out more about this.. pokemon?" she queried, looking to the Professor's assistant.

Aaron again pointed to a machine at the side of the room. "Place Doku's pokeball in the slot on that machine, and the screen will display some information about it."

Sally nodded and smiled. "Thank you." She walked over to the machine and placed the ball in the semi-circular slot.

Pokémon Factory Worker

After a moment the machine beeped, and some information appeared on the screen:

COMOLTEN
Lv. 5
Male
Fir

Moves:
Tackle [Nrm]
Charges the foe with a full-body tackle.
Leer [Nrm]
Frightens the foe with a leer to lower DEFENSE.

After giving her a moment to absorb the information, Aaron sais, "Now then, before you leave there's something else we have to do. if you'd follow me, please." He lead Sally to the back of the lab and through a door to a open-roofed room. The room had a floor made of grassy turf, with lines for a pokemon battle field marked with rows of white flowers.

"All new trainers must face me...in their first Gym Battle!"

Sally put her hand to her mouth and cleared her throat, then spoke in a tone of uncertainty. "I accept your challenge, though I'm not much of a battler.. Perhaps my new Comolten will be more confident.." She tossed the pokeball containing Doku out toward the field and it sprung open, releasing the Comolten. He made a gurgling noise and slithered toward the center of the field.

(OOC: Just so you know, Comoltens can fly.)

Aaron smiled warmly and said, "Since Doku's new to battling too, you'll have a chance to learn together. I'm sure there's a lot you can teach each other." Then he tossed his own pokeball onto the field, which burst open to release a small, dark-colored bird.

"Nevermore!" squwaked the pokemon as it hopped onto the field and faced its opponent.
