((KookyKoopa, I seem to remember a post with a signature that contained your pokmon and their attacks. Kecleon was listed with four attacks, but Flamethrower was not one of them. Is there any particular reason for that? I'm wondering because if there isn't a reason, then this move kinda seems to be a cheap plot-device. Well, that, and I'm just being curious ;P))

Kecleon's Flamethrower was colder than it should be; the pokmon was still shivering from Snowyd's Powder Snow and had turned into an Ice-type. However, the move was still so effective against Snowyd, that it fainted once it was hit.

Calleo recalled Snowyd. "Well, this comes as a surprise. I normally wouldn't let my pokmon actually faint in battle, but a Fire-type move was unexpected. A wise decision using it here, Tim."
Calleo hadn't fought a Kecleon often. He was very interested in this fight. "Well, since you're Kecleon is now an Ice-type, I also have a little surprise."
The gym leader threw a second pokball to the battleground and out of it appeared a shiny Branthorn.

"Branthorn, use Scorch!"

Calleo was dissapointed that Snowyd was out of battle already now that a Flying-type entered the fight.
"Branthorn, brace yourself for the hit!" Calleo commanded as he noticed (and he would notice, with Flying-types being a common pesk in his gym) the upcoming Peck. Branthorn put both of its leafy arms in front of it, and took the hit. He took damage, but being Calleo's strongest pokmon, it wasn't bothered much yet. Fancifowl's beak on the other hand was glowing red. "It looks like Branthorn's Flame Body ability has affected your pokmon, Tim," Calleo said.

That said, Calleo grabbed Branthorn's pokball and recalled it. "Let's try something else, go Kapacorn!" As the gym leader tossed a new pokball to the ground, out of it appeared Kapacorn.
"Kapacorn, use Sweet Scent!" The weedy pokmon shook its leaves and omitted a sweet-smelling waft towards Fancifowl.

Kapacorn instinctually turned its back to Fancifowl. Due to all the vegetation present, Fancifowl wasn't sure what to hit, and its Peck wasn't as effective as expected.
"Kapacorn, use Bite now that Fancifowl is near!" Calleo instructed, taking the effect of Sweet Scent on Fancifowl into account.

Fancifowl's Peck landed a direct hit on Kapacorn. "Quick, Kapacorn, blast it away with Water Gun!" the gym leader instructed.

Fancifowl's Peck landed another direct hit on Kapacorn and Kapacorn let out a painful cry, taking another amount of damage. However, the burn on Fancifowl's beak was, like the last turn, still bothering the feathered pokmon and it took some damage as well.
"Quick, Kapacorn, use another Bite!" the gym leader instructed.

"Clever choice, Tim. Water and Grass attacks both do little damage to your pokmon."
"All right, Kapacorn, use Sweet Scent!" The pokmon once again shook the vegetation on its back and launched a nicely swelling aroma into the air.

Being a Grass-type, Poingaela was less confused by Kapacorn's foliage than Fancifowl had been. Although the vegetation still somewhat hindered the attack, Poingaela managed to land a good hit.
"Kapacorn, use Bite!" Calleo said, now that Poingaela was close anyway.
