Description: Jhonen looks quite lean, but this is deceptive, as his baggy clothes hide the toned and firm muscles that sit on his frame. Because of his lean stature most people assume that he doesn't weigh very much at all, but as muscle is heavier than fat and Jhonen has toned his entire body through seven years of Pokemon training he actually weighs almost one hundred kilograms, primarily of dense muscle. Though only of average height, Jhonen stands out in a crowd because of his confident demeanor. He wears a bandana with the common Jolly Roger on it to symbolize his self-appointed status as a pirate and a vagabond, as he is proud of his new lifestyle, and it helps to keep his messy blonde hair from getting in his eyes too much. On his hands he wears heavy duty fingerless gloves with metal bracings. He carries with him a hiking knife for utility purposes, though he also likes to think it makes him seem more pirate-like. Despite his previous brush with minor crime Jhonen is basically a good person, having learned from his previous experiences.

Background: Jhonen was previously a trainer in the Johto League, and was a moderately successful trainer for almost seven years. He was a rising star in the team battle circuit of Johto, alongside his best friend Matthew, and it seemed all would be good in his life. However, even though he was successful and a minor celebrity, or perhaps because of it, Jhonen fell into a secret life of petty crime alongside Team Rocket remnants. It was minor crime, mostly pushing of illicit Pokeherbs on the street or at the celebrity-filled nightclubs he went to, but nonetheless when he was caught and charged the Johto Pokemon League banned him from participating ever again, and took his pokemon into custodial care with his older sister. Jhonen later found out that it was Matthew who had informed the police about his illegal sideline activities, and became determined that he would have revenge against Matthew, by defeating him in a pokemon match at the highest level; the League Championships. Being banned from the League posed a problem though, until Jhonen realised he could participate in a separate league and challenge Matthew in one of the prestigious Inter-League events that took place every few years. So he moved to Bombur and despite being much older than most other starting trainers has applied for a new Bombur League trainer status.
