Hey everyone. I'm not sure if I'm doing the right thing, since I'm new and I'm not sure about the way you do things on this board, but I thought it would be the polite thing to do to quickly introduce myself.

Anyway, I'm Taidal. I'm English, vegetarian, and spend most of my time reading, writing, and dreaming up ideas for pokemon. I'm also an ex sprite-designer for a site called Sphereplay.

Oh, and another thing...even though I'm new, to my knowledge the ban on grass-type pokemon (and everyting else, in fact) is still in effect. If this is true, does the ban extend to grass-type moves?

Nice to meet you Taidal. I'm ShinE, I work here at the Pokmon Factory.
As far as I know the ban does not extend to the move section.
The Suggest a Pokmon forum is now closed because we're preparing to make R/S dexes. After that we will probably start clean without bans.

Anyway, enjoy your visits at our site.

Greetings Taidal! I'm M-chan, one of the regulars here. I believe that SB is right concerning the Grass Ban, at least that's what I've figured since the type-ban went up.

If I wasn't such a lazy bum, I could do spritework for y'all as well, as anyone who'se been subjected to the bombardment that is the work I have done can easily tell you that I can hack out a sprite or a pic in no time flat.

Oh, and it'll look good too. Thought I should mention that one.

As long as everyone else is doing introductions...I'm Poryhedron, as you no doubt noticed, and I'm the board admin, which you may or may not have noticed. By the way, the Grass Ban has actually been officially removed; not that it'll mean anything until you can suggest pokmon again, but it definitely won't be in place at that time. As SolarBulbasaur/ShinE noted, we'll be starting afresh as far as type balance is concerned.

Thanks for being so friendly, everyone. You've really made me feel welcome.

I don't think I've ever been to a forum where the members have greeted me with open arms before.

But anyway, as for taking a job here, I'm not sure if I could draw actual pokemon sprites, but in case any of you are interested you can view some of my early work here:

Sphereplay Files

My sprites (White Mage, Dragoon, Kirby and Ninja) are under 'Character Sets'.

And sorry if this sounds dumb or rude, but could someone explain what Ryu just said about sprites and pics? My brain's still a little foggy since I didn't get much sleep last night...

Translation: I could be an artist for the Pokmon Factory if I really felt like it, not that I do.

I can make custom sprites quickly, and there are folks around who can confirm this because they've seen more of my spritework than is probably healthy.

Oh, and it'll look good too. Thought I should mention that one.

And unlike other people who make sprites quickly, mine actually look like art and not like something your dog might barf up.

I think that about covers it.

I'd become a sprite artist too if I wanted, but I'm afraid of doing shoddy work. $:\$ Not to mention the fact I don't have an animation program anymore.
