You know how all the fossil Pokemon are Pokemon who died out? Well how about some fossil Pokemon that are the prehistoric ancestors of current Pokemon?! Tell me what you think, and here is a list of ones that could have prehistoric counterparts.

-Sabertoothed (Pichu, Pikachu, Raichu) Line.
-Sabertoothed Electric Tiger (Shinx, Luxio, Luxray) Line.
-Pterasaur (Wingull, Pelipper, Antarctros) Line.
-Psychic or Magical Moeritherium (Drowzee, Hypno) Line.
-??? (Snubbull, Granbull) Line.
-Fire Propalaeotherium (Ponyta, Rapidash, possible evolution for Rapidash) Line.

Help me with some more!

Believe it or not, that concept was already being considered by us. However, it is something that can be easily abused of, so there would be certain limits to the amount of pokmon using the idea. Let me rekindle the issue in the Staff Room and I'll get back to you on this.

And I didn't mean to be mean but to be honest you've no proof its amazing. I had this same arguement with Treevotik on the way home from school the other day. He assumed his new sprite was really good but it was one of the worst I've ever seen.

Actually Gelatop I think that Nintendo has already put some of these in the game. If you look at Armaldo's leg and compare it with Crawdaunt's back legs, definite resemblance. Cranidos and Bagon, two peas in a freakin' pod. And since 1st Gen I've always considered Kabutops to be an ancestor of Scyther.

Why would it? All the above make sense, I mean all insects evolved from crustaceans and ancient crustaceans generally lacked recognisable pincers.

Think of it this way. Current pokemon don't need fossils, because its species is still alive. Fossils are only for pokemon that have been "extinct." So it wouldn't make too much sense anyway. Is that ok?

Antarctross obviously thought so since he decided to take the idea up with the staff again. Cattare, RIDICULOUS!!! Getting upset over one word? I myself have a cool fossil concept. I was thinking about adding a new fossil. Using a sharp tooth fossil, you can ressurect a t-rex type pokemon. Cranidos is not a t-rex, but a different type of dinosaur. And my new fossil pokemon is a dark/rock-(of course). and it could evolve at level 50 instead of 40. I was thinking of naming the 1st stage, rexaptor (rex, raptor), and the the evolution, rexyrant (rex, tyrant).

Heres anotther fossil idea. You revive a tri-horn fossil, and get a triceritops tipe pokemon. It would be rock/grass. The 1st for you be tritops(shortened from triceratops) and the evolved for would be triterian (triceritops, vegetarean). It would evolve at level 40 like any other fossil pokemon.
